You have a variety of options to arrive close to Bruchsal.

The biggest airport is Frankfurt International (FRA) 1 hour north. Other alternatives are:

Karlsruhe Baden-Baden (FKB) 45 minutes south.

Stuttgart International (STR), 1 hour south east

Straßbourg, France (SXB) 1.5 hours south

If you are planning on arriving some days prior to the wedding, you could add Euroairport Basel (BSL) to the list, which is just 45 minutes south of Freiburg.

It sure sounds exciting to rent a car in Germany and drive on the world famous Autobahn with no speed limit. However, if you are not planning to drive at 3 AM on a Sunday night, you can pretty much forget the idea of enjoying an empty race track. Unfortunately, traffic is always chaotic in the Autobahn. Therefore we recommend you to use public transportation within Germany.

The German train system is good, but is often plagued with delays. We're sure you didn't expect that :/ ... but it is what it is.

Bahn.de is the website to check connections. From either Frankfurt Airport or Stuttgart Airport you'll need approximately 1.5 hours to conveniently test the German ICE train (if it's on time).

As you all know, things are catastrophic in Venezuela; so much, that Andrea's grandparents and other close family members will not be able to attend the wedding due to either economic or bureaucratic restrictions (we can't get new passports anymore).

Family is the most important value to us, and to make up for their absence, we would like to make an extraordinary effort and celebrate our "honeymoon" with them in Florida. Many of Andrea' family members live there and for those still in Venezuela, the flight is cheaper and the distance is closer. But this comes at a very high price.
