It all began in the summer of 2021. Andrea, just happened to be temporarily cat-sitting in Liberty Village (proving that sometimes the best love stories don’t start with a grand plan, but with someone else’s cat).
Meanwhile, Sean, living in Toronto, had somehow managed to not set his dating app radius wide enough to Mississauga to find Andrea sooner. Thankfully, technology (and fate… but mostly Guinness) stepped in, and the two met over a pint.
From the very first laugh, it was obvious. Andrea and Sean shared the same sense of humour, the same taste in music, the same love of food (and maybe a suspicious amount of time at the gym to balance it), and the same ability to make each other snort-laugh at exactly the wrong moment. What started with good banter quickly became something more, a feeling that this was different, this was it.
Travel quickly became their shared hobby. From Nashville’s honky-tonks to Bordeaux’s vineyards, Warsaw’s historic charm, Thailand’s street eats, and Vietnam’s chaotic magic, they racked up stamps and stories in hearts and passports.
But nowhere felt quite like Ireland, especially Skerries, Sean’s hometown. Andrea, now practically a local, has survived several Guinness-fueled pub crawls and can even teach lost tourists which way is the sea (or at least pretend confidently).
Now, Ireland hasn’t just been another stop on their journey. It’s been the heartbeat of their relationship, the talk of someday marrying in a castle was always a whimsical “what if”… until June 2024. That's when Sean took Andrea to a real castle, got down on one knee, and nervously hoped she’d say yes before his accent got too thick. Tears, laughter, a little jig, and a very clear “yes” followed, bringing their Irish fantasy closer to reality.
Which brings us here, to Darver Castle, April 24th, 2026. A day where an Irishman and a Canadian will bring together the best of, not just two, but multiple worlds. A day bound to be filled with love, laughter, and maybe a few happy tears. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you, our favourite people, who’ve been part of the story all along.
