Our Wedding

Andrew is the son of Michael and Virginia Callaway, and the brother of Nathaniel Callaway and Rebecca Long. He comes from a military family and has called many places home, but he primarily grew up in Slidell, Louisiana. Andrew’s family was very active in a local summer swim team (Go Marlins), where he eventually became the head coach, leading a team of more than 80 swimmers. Andrew attended the University of New Orleans, where he studied accounting. While in school, he worked as an air-conditioning technician, where he learned the value of hard work—and, most importantly, how to handle the Louisiana summer heat. In 2023, Andrew joined the Slidell Police Department as a Corrections Officer for one year before completing the Police Academy and Field Training Program. He has since earned his place as a Patrol Officer, serving the community he grew up in.

His Story 

Kyra is the daughter of Heyward and Tiffany Boyette and the sister of Audrey Boyette. She was born in Lexington, South Carolina, where she grew up with a passion for dance. Throughout her high school years, she expanded her love for the arts by joining the marching band and color guard, learning the value of collaboration, creativity, and dedication along the way. Her academic journey led her to the University of South Carolina, where she pursued a degree in marine science. After graduating in 2021, Kyra spent time in Florida researching sharks. She then moved to Charleston for an internship at the South Carolina Aquarium. In 2022, Kyra moved to New Orleans to begin her career as an aquarist at the Audubon Aquarium. Shortly afterward, she earned her master's degree in teaching from the University of New Orleans. Today, Kyra is a middle school teacher at J.B. Martin Middle School, where she teaches seventh-grade advanced math.

Her Story 

Andrew and Kyra’s first date in 2022 consisted of dinner and a movie, and it was exactly what you’d expect: a little awkward and ending with a friendly side hug. Fortunately, Kyra agreed to a second date, where they had time to connect on a personal level and discovered they had more in common than they originally thought. Over the next several years, Andrew and Kyra continued to grow and evolve through their respective careers. When Andrew began the police academy, he found unwavering support and compassion from Kyra during one of the most challenging periods of his life. Shortly afterward, when Kyra began her grueling coursework to earn her master’s degree, Andrew provided the same unconditional support she had shown him. In the summer of 2025, Andrew and Kyra visited the Treasure Coast in Jensen Beach, Florida. Andrew knew it was the perfect time to ask Kyra to marry him. He remembered a conversation in which Kyra had mentioned her dream proposal: flowers and beautiful scenery from the comfort of a secluded gazebo. After weeks of research, Andrew found the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, and at its center, a secret garden filled with beautiful flowers surrounding a gazebo. He asked her to marry him—and she said yes. After walking through the garden with a new ring, Andrew and Kyra were stopped by a stranger who had seen the proposal and offered to take photos. They knew the day was special when they noticed the stranger was wearing a Callaway golf hat, reminding them of their shared future and the family they will create together.
