The perfect bistro for a cozy dinner. Located in the quiet Stonington Borough, this spot is frequented by locals and a great place to escape the tourist crowd. Steak frites or their Duck and scallops are always on the menu and definitely a must try.
A lively place serving up BBQ, burgers, beers, bourbon, and innovative cocktails. Casual and very fun!
Looking to try some New England lobster? Abbot’s is a classic New England shack serving up all types of seafood. Located on the water, this spot is ideal for enjoying a meal and watching the sailboats pass by.
This preserved colonial seaport village offers an immersive experience to guests looking to step into history. Along with the village, this museum hosts the 1841 whale ship Charles W Morgan for you to board and a number of exhibits highlighting maritime history. Here you can watch live open hearth cooking, listen to sea shanties, witness the rigging of a whale ship, see iron forging, dip candles, eat at the seaside tavern, take a carriage ride, and so much more.
If you are looking to avoid an itinerary, strolling downtown Mystic might be the perfect thing for you. Downtown offers unique boutiques, book stores, ice cream shops, and restaurants. Downtown is located right on the river and offers views of the 1928 drawbridge and Mystic Seaport.
A one stop shop for shopping and dining. This shopping village offers unique stores, many of which are immersive like the wizarding store offering up potion beverages, the haunted bookstore with paintings that move, and the Alice in wonderland tea room where Alice is falling through the ceiling. You can also find more traditional stores such as the homestyle general store, honey store, Celtic store, Christmas store, and more!
Step into the home of two renowned sea captains and learn of the exciting expeditions made to the Antarctic. This museum offers views of Stonington harbor and glimpse into the leading lives of historic Stonington.
Mystic and Stonington are not beach towns. However, beaches are in an easy driving distance for anyone looking to take a dip in the Atlantic or soak up the sun on the sand.
This Beach is a short drive over the border into Watch Hill Rhode Island, which celebrities like Taylor Swift call home. This beach is one of the quietest you’ll find in this area and offers beautiful views through the preserved sand dunes.
Located at the tip of Stonington borough, this small private beach is the closest to the wedding venues. This beach is convenient and scenic. There may be a small charge in the busy summer months. There is also a small park and lighthouse museum that offer great ocean views only steps a way, making this a good location for an afternoon of activities.
