Walk Cashiers is a collaboration between the Cashiers Area Chamber, Jackson County, and Visions Cashiers. Phase One, a 1.6-mile loop starting and ending at the Chamber, opened in July 2024. The initiative will transform Cashiers into a walkable community with a five-mile network of pathways, sidewalks, boardwalks, and public spaces. Named the Cashiers Greenway Ramble, it showcases the potential to enhance the quality of life, preserve the natural beauty, and foster connections within the community.

📸 Susan Gregory. Dry Falls is a stunning 80-foot waterfall, with 40 feet of free fall, located along the Cullasaja River near Highlands. A short, paved quarter-mile trail takes you behind the falls, offering a unique and misty view. This easy, accessible trail offers a breathtaking experience for visitors of all ages.

From childhood adventures at her family's mountain cabin, gazing out over the serene water and majestic mountains, to visiting as an adult and feeling that same sense of peace and connection, Lake Glenville has been a constant source of joy and inspiration. Its beauty and spirit have been woven into her life's fabric, grounding her in the heart of the mountains she loves so deeply.

Andrew, too, has long appreciated the breathtaking views of Lake Glenville, a connection that began during his time living in Dillsboro and has continued more recently on his commutes from Greer, SC, to Western Carolina University. The lake’s beauty has been a quiet companion on his journeys, reinforcing his love for this remarkable region.

It's amazing how a place can hold so much meaning, becoming both a reflection of the past and a beacon for our future as our wedding ceremony at Chimney Pond Farm overlooks Lake Glenville.

Nestled in a stunning mountain forest, Lake Glenville is a true gem with its pristine waters and three waterfalls visible only from the lake itself. One of the highest-elevation lakes east of the Rocky Mountains, Lake Glenville is the largest lake in Jackson County and perfect for boating, bass fishing, and water-skiing. The lake also features a swimming area with sand beach and trail to High Falls. The lake stretches six miles in length surrounded by 26 miles of picturesque shoreline.

The path to Silver Run Falls is a short, mostly flat walk that leads to a breathtaking waterfall with a large sandy pool, making it a perfect stop after hiking or an ideal spot to spend the day. To reach it, head south from Cashiers about 4 miles and you will find a few parking spots on your left, just off Hwy 107 S, for Silver Run Falls.

📸 Linda Ives. Whiteside Mountain showcases one of the most recognizable peaks in Jackson County. The loop trail is 2 miles long and ascends to cliffs that reach heights of 750 feet, providing panoramic views to the east, south, and west. If you visit during our June wedding, you may catch sight of a peregrine falcon soaring overhead or perched on the rocky outcrops. Conveniently situated between Cashiers and Highlands, Whiteside Mountain welcomes everyone to come and soak in its beauty and inspiration all year round.

📸 Andrew Sapienza. Whitewater Falls, the highest waterfall east of the Rockies, plunges an awe-inspiring 411 feet. Just downstream, South Carolina’s Lower Whitewater Falls cascades another dramatic 400 feet. Nestled in the rugged terrain of an escarpment, this remote area remains largely wild and untouched, offering a sanctuary for nature enthusiasts and wildlife alike.

In the cool, damp shade of steep slopes and rocky cliffs, vibrant wildflowers and elusive salamanders thrive. The landscape is also home to a diverse array of ferns, mosses, and fungi, creating a lush, verdant haven. Throughout the seasons, visitors can enjoy the ever-changing beauty of blooming flowers and colorful berries, making Whitewater Falls a year-round treasure for adventurers and nature lovers.
