Our Wedding

Andrew &amp; Madi met at Joe's Bar in Chico, CA in February 2018. Their first "unofficial" date was a boat ride on the Sacramento River followed by a picnic on the sandbar.Their first "official" date was attending the lovely Rafalski Wedding on Cinco De Mayo 2018 From then on, it has been nothing but adventures. Everything from sky diving, snorkeling in Hawaii, surf lessons in Indonesia, road trips to Fort Bragg, hunting excursions in Eastern Oregon, fly fishing in Mill Creek and weekly trips to Farmer's Brewery in Princeton, CA. In September of 2021 Andrew &amp; Madison took another road trip to Eastern Oregon, in search of Elk.It had been 5 days of hiking, not finding any elkand 5 nights of not showering, only eating Mountain House meals and drinking peanut butter whiskey.Day 6 is when Andrew decided that Madi deserved a break. On September 20th (Day 6/10 off the grid)He promised to drive her to a spot called the lookout tower (so she could get cell-phone service) and then to town (so she could go to her favorite coffee shop)Standing at the top of the lookout tower, overlooking the beautiful Strawberry Wilderness (and the elk that were hiding), Andrew got down on one knee and asked Madi "to be his hunting partner forever?"AND, he did this while secretly filming with Madi's camera.Obviously, she said yes. It has been said that 2022 will have 2.5 million weddings, the most since 1984 (thanks Covid). For that reason, Andrew and Madi didn't think it would be possible to get married in 2022, but thanks to Andrew's gracious Aunt Dee and Uncle Mike, they made it possible. The wedding venue is at their private home nestled in quiet Capay, CA right next to the Sacramento River. Andrew's cousin Natalie (Mike and Dee's daughter) and her husband Jeremy were the first couple to be wed there in June of 2021. While attending their wedding, Andrew and Madi happened to catch the garter and bouquet ;) Andrew and Madi are beyond excited to get married along the river, just like their first "unofficial" date and cannot wait to celebrate with their closest friends and family!

Andrew and Madi are headed to Costa Rica in February for their honeymoon!

Hunting, Fishing, Loving Everyday

Theron and Andrew first met in Kindergarten and have spent many years together as teammates, college roommates and hunting partners.
Theron and Madi met at CSU Chico  and were lab partners in their Ecology class. Theron was the one that introduced Madi and Andrew at Joes's Bar for the first time.
Theron is by far their most intelligent, responsible, caring and reliable friend, that is why he was asked to fulfill this special role.

Andrew and Madi's 4 year old  furchild that goes everywhere with them. She enjoys duck hunting with her dad or sleeping in with her mom, hanging out/getting scolded by her grandpawrents and drooling in the car while waiting for her weekly puppacino. She has promised to do her best to sit still and avoid jumping in the river the day of the wedding.

Ember Lee 

Madi's absolute favorite ginger, female soulmate, fellow animal lover, human diary and long distance best friend! Their perfect day would consist of playing tennis while listening to a music playlist that will make you cry one second and break dance the other then binge watching a series on Netflix while drinking Go Girls and eating watermelon sour straws in fuzzy blankets while cuddling every animal possible on the couch. 

Sydney Lunsford aka Squid

Andrew's older brother ( by 16 months) Brothers by blood and best friends by choice. You can find them hunting, fishing or on the phone together on almost every given day.

Dylan Shippelhoute

Madi's oldest sister, the best role model and the greatest mother to her three nieces. Their relationship mainly consists of made up words, random dance moves and laughing endlessly.
She is the reason there are gluten free desserts ;)

Rikki Cortese

Best friends since 4th grade and an honorary member of the Shippelhoute household. If you find anything broken at the wedding, it is likely he did it, but will also be the one to fix it.

Westin Foster

Madi's older sister, the best role model and the best fur mom. They share a love for gas station food, chocolate everything, scratchers and peer pressuring others into drinking alcohol. Watch out for this one ;)

Jada Forney aka Sisquatch

After moving here from Switzerland, Butte College Baseball brought these two together in 2014. After retiring in 2016, they have become obsessed with golf and financial planning. It has been said that Andrew is Michael's good luck charm ;)

Michael Schuler

Andrew's highly intelligent, patient and beautiful sister. Point at any spot on the globe and she has most likely been there.
Madi's fellow cat loving, chili truffle eating, also bad driver, country concert BFF.

Karlene Shippelhoute

Butte College Baseball brought these two together in 2014. Teaching Tevin to duck hunt is like teaching Andrew how to golf. They feed off of each others bad ideas when together and cannot be trusted when left alone. 

Tevin Cadola

Bella and Madi are CSU Chico alums, fellow Joe's Bar regulars, long haired cat lovers, bow hunting beginners and the reason that Alex and Andrew are still alive ;)

Isabella Henderson

These two met in little league around 2005. Since then, they've ruined their hearing by blowing endless hours of goose calls and shotgun shell blasts. All winter long you can find them in a duck blind.

Alex Wunsch aka Pepper

Animal Science majors at Chico State that first hated each other but then quickly became besties over their love for veterinary medicine, cats, Joe's Bar, Dutch Bros and eating snacks in bed. She is the life of the party while also being the "mom" of the party. 

Sarena Harwood

These two first met in Little League back in 2005 and did not become friends until 2013. That is around the time they discovered their mutual love for having a good time, expect nothing less the night of 10/01/22.

Jake Duckworth

The Catholic School in Colusa brought these two together and through all of life's changes they have always been their for each other. She is the best mom, friend and if you want something done, you ask this girl.

Cheyenne Rogers

These two retired Mendocino Hotshots worked together from 2018-2020. The only thing they enjoyed more than hard work was having a good time. They both thoroughly enjoy running chainsaws and drinking Coors Light.

What do I Wear?

Casual Dress CodeThe ceremony and reception will be outdoors. PLEASE wear comfortable shoes, there will be a short walk to the ceremony. Highly recommend comfortable sandals or cowboy boots.Rides will be provided for individuals that need assistance walking.

What Time Should I Arrive?

The ceremony will begin at 3:30pm.PLEASE arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony to allow yourself time to grab a beverage and walk to the ceremony site.
