In October 2019, while both working at Gallagher, we met for the first time. As much as we would like to say it was love at first sight, it was much more of a slow burn. During that time, we really got to know each other and became good friends. That period was pivotal, as we realized just how much we loved being in each other's presence.
After a year and a half of friendship, we finally went on a date… “just as friends.” But it didn’t take long for those “friend” dates to turn into something more. One date led to another, and soon it was clear to both of us that this was something special. For the next few months, we traveled back and forth between Algonquin and Glenview, spending every weekend together. Not long after, Andrew took a job in the city and moved to the West Loop. Even then, we continued traveling between the city and the suburbs to see each other on weekends. During this time, we became very close and created some of our most fond memories.
Two years later, we took the next step in our relationship and moved into our first apartment together in Lincoln Park! Living in a cozy space and spending so much time together felt effortless for both of us. It was a time that strengthened our bond and cemented our love for one another.
Then, after nearly 4 years of dating, Andrew proposed to Nicole in Florence, Italy! When it came time to choose a wedding destination, it didn’t take long for us to agree that Ecuador was the perfect place. Throughout our relationship, Nicole often shared her fond memories of visiting her family there, and we had always dreamed of experiencing it together, especially since Andrew had never been. Now, we’re thrilled to celebrate our special day in a place so close to our hearts.
Over the past 4 and a half years, we’ve built a life filled with unforgettable memories, laughter, and love. Together, we’ve seamlessly blended our families, shared incredible moments with both old and new friends, and have traveled across the U.S. and abroad. As we take this next step, we’re so excited to continue this journey together as a family.
