The Corso Umberto is the main pedestrian-only street in Taormina. It stretches between two arched gateways: Porta Catania and Porta Messina. Along these charming streets, you'll find an array of souvenir shops, unique artisanal stores, fashion boutiques, as well as restaurants and cafes, providing ample opportunities for exploring all day.


Whilst walking arch to arch, Corso Umberto will also take you to two of the prettiest spots in Taormina:

Piazza IX Aprile | A great place to sit and have a drink. It is also home to the beautiful Chiesa di San Giuseppe (the church where our ceremony will take place).

Duomo di Taormina | A small medieval church adjacent to a beautiful fountain outside in the Piazza Duomo. This is also a great spot to sit, rest and enjoy a drink.

Visit the beach

Some of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily are located in the surrounding area. Journey down to Isola Bella and its accompanying pebble beach using the convenient cable cars (more info in the FAQ section).

VISIT THE GREEK THEATRE

The ancient Greek theatre of Taormina is the second largest theatre in Sicily. To reach the theatre, you can easily search in maps Via Teatro Greco. It’s a short walk from almost anywhere in Taormina and there are signs to point you in the right direction. The cost of entry is 10 euro.

Explore the public gardens of Villa Comunale, offering amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea and Mt. Etna. The gardens are located just off the main Corso Umberto I in the center of Taormina.

The Alcantara Gorges, located near Taormina, are a natural marvel formed by ancient lava flows from Mount Etna. To visit this breathtaking site, simply search for "Alcantara Gorges" in your maps and is accessible by car. Upon arrival, visitors can explore the gorges through various paths and trails, each offering a unique perspective of the crystal-clear waters and the imposing basalt columns. Entry to the park is around 8 euros, providing access to the main gorge area and allowing for a refreshing dip in the river or a leisurely walk along its banks.
