Our Wedding

Matt moved to Gulfport, Mississippi in June 2019 from Louisiana. Not even 4 months later he was asked if he wanted to move 5 hours North to Oxford, Mississippi. He knew only one other coworker and was given a name of another employee that could give him good references for the best watering holes in Oxford (Obviously Me). After some persuading, Matt convinced me to meet him at the St. Patrick’s day pub crawl in Oxford. This is the reason St. Patrick’s day is special to us even though it wasn’t technically our first date. Our actual first date was to no surprise at Buffalo Wild Wings. We went the last night before they shut down for COVID and then Matt drove me around looking for toilet paper; proving chivalry is not dead even during a pandemic! Matt says our first date is when I wanted to show him Sardis Lake and he ended up driving me around the entire lake which took 4 hours! We have been inseparable ever since (and pretty much inseparable from BWW too).

Flying Tiger is the only full production and distributing craft brewery in Northeast Louisiana. Every beer they serve, they brewed. Enjoy anywhere from 12-18 craft beers, including hard seltzers, on tap any given day. Their taproom decor and atmosphere, along with their patio and outdoor green space has it among the highest rated taprooms to visit. They offer beer on draft and in six packs, four packs, and growlers to go!

The Biedenharn Museum & Gardens is a museum complex that features regularly scheduled exhibits and events. It is composed of a historic home filled with antiques and artifacts, formal English gardens, a Coca-Cola Museum, a Bible Museum, and Museum Store.

Oasis Daiquiris

This is for the history buffs! It is an hour away but definitely a cool spot! We like to visit on our way back to Jackson. Vicksburg National Military Park preserves the site of the American Civil War Battle of Vicksburg, waged from March 29 to July 4, 1863. The park, located in Vicksburg, Mississippi (flanking the Mississippi River), also commemorates the greater Vicksburg Campaign which led up to the battle.
