Rabac, Plomin, Labin, Croatia
Croatia is a popular tourist (and wedding/honeymoon) destination it would seem, and places appear to be booking up fast. There is a lot of apartments, some of which are amazing, so it might be worth getting a few of you together to book one of these, which also makes it cheaper. Booking. com seems to have the majority of them on there, and even if they say there aren't any rooms available, you might find that if you contact the hotels directly, there is still some availability.
Chris and I are staying in Rabac which is approximately 12-15km from the wedding venue (don't worry about taxis - our wedding planner will sort this out!), but Plomin and Labin are between 5-10km away.
Getting here
So, there are several ways to get to Rabac, Plomin, Labin. Here are a few:
The first, is to fly into Pula airport and then get a taxi to your hotel, which is approximately 40km. Chris and I have had a look at taxi cost and it works out at about twenty pounds one way.
If you fancy hiring a car, there are several options - www.rentalcars.com suggests that the average price for a small car for the week is 250 pounds. We used Dollar/Thrifty and for an E class Mercedes for four days it was 300 pounds (this was also from the airport, not a pre-book).
Option 2 is to fly into Zagreb and either get a connecting flight to Pula via Zadar, or again, hire a car and drive to Rabac etc. It's roughly about two and a half hours, but believe me, it will be a pretty spectacular and enjoyable drive.
Option 3 bizarrely, is to fly to Trieste in Italy! Sounds mental, but actually, it's only then a 90 minute drive!!!
