The Loviest Love

After an awesome weekend in Lake Geneva , Peter asked Ania if she’d like to get a birthday dinner in Wilmette, where he allegedly had a friend that became GM at a “really nice Italian restaurant.” On their way there, shockingly, somehow the reservation was bumped an hour late. Peter suggested that they stop at a college favorite spot of theirs, the Bahá'í House of Worship on Sheridan road. It’s a gorgeous building along Lake Michigan’s coast, next to the beach. They’ve shared many peaceful, mindful moments there in the past. Ania had a suspecting feeling that Peter’s plans were right on point, and life was about to get even more lovie together. With Ania’s favorite photographer, Kasia Jarosz, hiding in the garden waiting for their arrival -seconds away from the proposal - Peter took Ania’s hand and walked her up the stairs into a golden sunset. He bent on one knee, heart racing, and asked Ania to marry him. She said very much yes (all the yeses), and they celebrated among a crowd of strangers that applauded their love. Kasia captured some beautiful, silly, lovie moments in the garden. Afterwards, they crossed the street and walked barefoot on the beach and in the crashing waves of the lake. They sat in the sand and soaked in the joy that was relieving them of all their nerves - it was the feeling of The Loviest Love. That warm summer night, the sky bright with tones of pink, gold and wonder, was the start of a new chapter.

Ania & Peter's Photos

Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa Photos

Ania & Magdalena (Maggie Kozlowski) Jordan spent nine months as “wombmates” before they were even born. With their families being such close friends, their lives were parallel from the beginning and they refer to each other as cousins. They are only nine days apart and traveling to Poland together is something Ania & Maggie have done since they were kids. These days, Ania is proud to be an unofficially official auntie to Maggie’s awesome children and furbabies.

Magdalena Jordan

It was a bright and sunny Monday morning, freshman year of high school, sometime in the late nineteen hundreds when Peter chose his best man. Peter moved from a school class of roughly 300 kids to 3,000 that year and didn’t know a single person. He hadn’t hit his growth spurt quite yet, and he knew that in order to survive he needed to find the tallest, person and befriend him. Since then Peter & Slavko’s friendship has evolved from Bran to Hodor, to Rocket and Groot.

This public space, with the town hall at one end and the cathedral at another, is the true heart of Białystok. With cafés and restaurants, pubs and bars, it is a bustling area of commerce and communication for the people of the city. Rows of houses line the square, some of which are decorated with the portraits of famous individuals from the region, like Duchess Anna of Siemiatycze, the Enlightenment reformer, and Adrian Krzyzanowski, mathematician, physicist, and historian. Occasionally markets will spring up here that evoke those held in centuries past when Jewish merchants would set up stalls to sell their wares.

These days, the Branicki Palace is the headquarters of the Medical University of Białystok and it is open to the public for tours. Białystok’s premier theater has a seating capacity of 500 and has been around since 1940. It was in this year when the man for whom this building is named arrived in the city as the head of a group of Warsaw actors who had fled Poland’s capital to escape persecution by the Germans. Węgierko, a Jew, established the first permanent company at the theatre, and plays have been performed here ever since. All tastes are catered to, from discerning, artistically minded theater-goers to children and lovers of humor and entertainment. Original works are performed as well as classical drama and modern works by Polish and foreign playwrights.

The Arsenal Gallery in Białystok was established in 1965 as one of the Artistic Exhibitions Bureaux. It has been under Monika Szewczyk’s management since 1990. Today, it is a municipal institution of culture financed from the budget of the City of Białystok. The Gallery has been following a comprehensive and consistent exhibition programme for years, presenting and fostering contemporary art in a variety of media and offering an excellent perspective of all the most important and interesting phenomena in current Polish art, while not sidestepping challenges and experiments. The Arsenal Gallery holds approximately 20 exhibitions per annum – not only at its two permanent venues in Białystok, but also at other domestic locations and abroad. Projects tying in with Eastern Partnership and Central European countries have a special place in the Gallery’s programme – they show all tendencies and changes in the contemporary art of these regions.Exhibition activities are accompanied by an intensely developing educational programme – the Arsenal Playground – teaching about contemporary art at different levels and with the use of varying language. Projects implemented as part of the programme teachdialogue with art, presenting it as a platform for negotiating issues of social importance. Artists are frequently part of the educational process, new works created as part of workshops they deliver. Making all the most important phenomena in current art available to persons with sight and hearing impairments is a vital part of the Gallery’s educational activities. Publishing is another of activity important to the Gallery. The institution produces catalogues and other publications accompanying most of its exhibitions. The Arsenal Gallery has been engaging in diverse activities fostering contemporary culture, such as panel discussions, lectures, seminars, conferences, concerts, book promotions, and film screenings. For a number of years, it has been organising the Children’s Art Book Fair with an extensive workshop offer for the youngest audience.

For example, “Days of Białystok” consists of jazz concerts, dance and theater performances, outdoor events, and a celebration of local culture, while the annual blues festival “Autumn with the Blues” is inspired by popular local band Kasa Chorych.
