Things to Do

From the venue, there are gravel roads for bicycling, running, walking. There are also trails a short distance from the venue for those interested in hiking, trail running, and bicycling. Watch your step, poison oak is thick in these parts!

Jacksonville has a one street downtown with shops and restaurants. Forest Park is a nice trail system that can be accessed from town and is bike friendly.

Ashland is slightly bigger than Jacksonville and has shops, restaurants, bars, and Lithia Park--also accessible from town--for hiking, running, and biking.

Medford is the bigger town with big box and grocery stores, the airport, etc.

Wineries everywhere!

ACTIVITES: As far as on site, there will be cornhole and ping pong (that’s right F street crew) but we encourage you to bring other games as well. We ask that Saturday before the ceremony people who aren’t assigned a task avoid the barn. Aside from Saturday pre-ceremony, the barn will serve as the hub of the weekend activities. The ranch is very close to some really good hiking trails and is surrounded by excellent gravel riding. We will be doing a group ride Sunday at 11:30 a.m. after coffee/breakfast but we encourage you to explore the other days too.

Sterling mine ditch trail : The SMDT is a 21 mile long ditch trail that is flat with a few exceptions and is open to hikers/bikers/equestrians alike. It is mellow enough to be chill on a MTB and not just doable but fun on a drop bar bike. It offers excellent views and most likely abundant wildflowers in early June. The trailhead closest to the ranch would be Bear Gulch which is 3.5 miles from the ranch.

Jack-Ash trail: The Jack-Ash (Jacksonville to Ashland) trail is another gem of the little applegate, it can be accessed via the SMDT @ Grub Gulch or from Anderson Butte Rd. It is also a multi-use trail and with the exception of the upper most section, is very fun on a gravel bike. Here’s a good loop that would incorporate it. More bike routes found in the link below.

Jacksonville Trails: There are a lot of trails in Jacksonville. The Woodlands trails (including Britt trail system) are easily accessed from town and provide many different loops that you can make for a variety of distances. Forest Park trails are also close to town and are a bit more extensive and more popular amongst mountain bikers. Most of these trails are multi-use.
