Hello friends and family,
We are so excited for you to join us in Sitka for our wedding! To help you prepare for your trip to Alaska we wanted to provide some recommendations on travel, accommodations, and what to expect for weather.
Getting to Sitka
Sitka is on an island, meaning it’s only accessible by air or sea. The most convenient way to travel is by flying into Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport (SIT). Alaska Airlines offers daily flights from major hubs like Seattle (SEA) and Anchorage (ANC).
Where to Stay
Sitka has a variety of lodging options to fit different preferences and budgets. The Aspen Suites Hotel and Southeast Resort (formerly Westmark) are both excellent choices, conveniently located downtown near our venue. You'll also find a number of lodges and vacation rentals that can be booked through sites like Airbnb and Vrbo. Given that our wedding is in the beginning of the tourist season, we highly recommend booking your flights and accommodations as early as possible. For more recommendations or assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Preparing for the Weather
April in Sitka is beautiful but can be unpredictable, so it’s best to pack for all types of weather. The average temperatures range from the mid-30s to the mid-40s Fahrenheit. The key to staying comfortable is layering—think fleece jackets, sweaters, and long-sleeved shirts. Most importantly, be sure to bring a waterproof jacket and water-resistant shoes, as Sitka is known for its frequent rain.
We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you in this incredible place!
