Our Wedding

Ian and Anna started their journey at graduate school in Boulder, Colorado. Anna first met Ian at a dinner party that she was hosting for a group of friends. The dinner party had a few unexpected guests, one of whom was Ian. Luckily, Anna had prepared plenty of food to go around. In an attempt to spend more time together, Ian looked past his fear of heights and started indoor rock climbing with Anna. Together, Anna and Ian learned the ropes of outdoor rock climbing and protected each other’s lives on the wall. After a year of knowing one another, Anna and Ian realized that they should probably be romantic partners in addition to being climbing partners. Since their first date, Anna and Ian have travelled the world, climbed many rocks, snowboarded, hiked, biked, kayaked, skied, adopted a dog, and generally had a great time pushing each other to new limits time and again. Anna and Ian plan to keep adventuring with each other for the rest of their lives.

General Travel Information

The ceremony will be hosted at the McKenna Family Ranch in Sonoma, CA. Those who are flying in will most likely need to rent a car to reach the destination. Sonoma, CA is approximately forty minutes from Sonoma County Airport, an hour and twenty minutes from Oakland and San Francisco International Airports, and about an hour and a half from Sacramento International Airport. For accommodations, there are several hotels, vacation rentals, and campgrounds in Sonoma, CA and the surrounding cities. We will be preparing campsites at the McKenna Family Ranch for anyone who is interested in camping at the venue. We recommend that guests look into booking accommodations early, as Sonoma is a popular summer vacation location. We recommend looking for accommodations in Sonoma, Glen Ellen, and Kenwood. Accommodations in Santa Rosa and Petaluma are also an option, but both locations are approximately 30-40 minutes from the venue.

Camping

1. Due to the number of campers, showering and getting ready may be challenging. For people that shower quickly or are happy with a dip in the pool, we should be able to accommodate you. For those looking for a full service shower and plenty of space to get ready, we recommend getting a day pass at parkpoint gym in Sonoma:&nbsp;<a href="https://parkpointhealthclub.com/sonoma/non-member-services/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://parkpointhealthclub.com/sonoma/non-member-services/</a>&nbsp;. Day passes are $20/day.2. The only meals provided will be the wedding dinner and breakfast on Sunday morning. Please plan accordingly for all other meals.&nbsp;3.&nbsp;We will provide lights, tables, portable stoves, and water at the group campsite. Portable toilets will be set up within walking distance.&nbsp;4. Our plan is to have one big group site. If you are interested in a more remote site then please let us know and we will show you some options.&nbsp;5. There will be two dogs on-site. Please confirm that the dogs are inside or held by someone before driving through the gate and onto Arnold Drive.&nbsp;6. The gate code is 1863B. (If you can guess the significance of this code, then you will win a prize of Pat's choosing)7. You are all welcome to chill by the pool at any time during your stay. Bring your swimsuits!&nbsp;8. Sonoma can be very warm during the day and cold at night, that is what makes the wine so good. Please pack accordingly.9.
