As we all adapt to an uncertain time with COVID-19 (coronavirus), we have been monitoring the news carefully and preparing&nbsp;to take every precaution necessary to make our wedding safe for our guests.&nbsp;

That being said, we have decided, out of caution, to postpone our wedding until February 13, 2021.







For those of you who booked have booked flights already, many airlines are offering lenient ticket change policies, so we suggest you reach out to them directly. 







While we are very sorry to delay our celebration and cause changes to your plans, the safety of our guests is our utmost priority.&nbsp;Please check our website and national and local public health websites regularly for updates. To our family &&nbsp;friends,&nbsp;

We’ve made a &nbsp;decision to postpone our wedding celebration once again. This was a heartbreaking decision, but not nearly as heartbreaking as the idea of putting our loved ones at risk.&nbsp; When it comes right down to it, a marriage is a commitment of two people, and a wedding is a party that can be rescheduled, so that is the route we have decided to take.&nbsp;&nbsp;







As we have gone ahead to officially cancel our&nbsp;February 13, 2021 date&nbsp;at Aria, and as Anna will embark on a four-year graduate program come&nbsp;this fall, the festivities will be held off at least&nbsp;until 2025.&nbsp;We had the beautiful and blessed opportunity to be married&nbsp;in front of&nbsp;our two immediate families and Zoom&nbsp;on May 30, 2020, but as we would still love&nbsp;to celebrate with all of our beloved family and friends,&nbsp;we hope your dancing shoes can wait a little longer!&nbsp;







If you have gone ahead and made any hotel or travel&nbsp;bookings, we believe most companies have been very understanding and compliant with cancelling due to COVID-19, but please check with their cancellation policies.&nbsp;In the meantime, be safe and be well and please let us know if you have any questions.&nbsp;

POSTPONED...AGAIN

SUMMER&nbsp;2013

Once upon a time, Anna received a sock monkey as a gift&nbsp;for her high school graduation from her friend, Tram, signed with several&nbsp;congratulations, best wishes,&nbsp;and a mystery&nbsp;phone number. Tram had shown her a picture of the guy behind the mystery note and she thought,&nbsp;dang, he's a&nbsp;cutie.&nbsp;On a whim, she texted him&nbsp;with a little flirtatious thanks, and&nbsp;SHUT&nbsp;DOWN -&nbsp;John ended the conversation before it could start. And when they officially met during a church camp&nbsp;outing&nbsp;&nbsp;in New Hampshire&nbsp;July of 2013, again, John ended any initiation of a conversation or&nbsp;friendship&nbsp;before it could start. His first impressions were that she was cute too,&nbsp;with her dimples and wavy hair, but he wasn't looking for anything.&nbsp;(Honestly though, he was just playing hard to get).&nbsp;Anna gave up and jokingly told a friend&nbsp;that he was standoffish and&nbsp;probably&nbsp;hated her. Little did she know, word travels and while on a family vacation in Ocean City, Maryland a few weeks later, she received a text from a mystery phone number, saying, "I&nbsp;hate you???"&nbsp;And that was the start of something.















It was the start of a road trip with a couple of&nbsp;friends to Philadelphia where they couldn't stop talking to each other about their families, childhood, and hobbies, followed by&nbsp;another spontaneous day trip where John drove down to visit Anna in NYC for 12 hours -&nbsp;and this&nbsp; continued into&nbsp;days of nonstop&nbsp;texting and nights of 3+&nbsp;hour phone calls. It was the start of something more than just a crush or a summer fling.&nbsp;But you see, long distance is hard; especially for students. At this point Anna was a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh and John was a sophomore at the University of Vermont - same time zone, but 600 miles apart. They developed an on-again, off-again relationship for almost two years. While Anna had believed he was "the one,"&nbsp;their roller coaster ride was emotionally draining and they both agreed that maybe it was timing, but&nbsp;they just weren't meant to be.&nbsp;















SUMMER 2015















After ending their relationship following their spring semester,&nbsp;Anna&nbsp;spent her summer studying abroad in Costa Rica while John hiked with friends and went fishing to get his mind off things. When she came back, she drove up to Benson, Vermont for another annual camp outing. She knew John was going to be there, but thought, "hey, I&nbsp;can just ignore him."&nbsp;But trying to convince yourself to ignore someone never works because&nbsp; you always&nbsp;end&nbsp;up&nbsp;paying extra attention to when they're&nbsp;around. It was the same for John, except he missed her. And he thought, "I&nbsp;can't picture myself without her." Cheesy, but he actually thought this. So, right before she drove away, he made a move.&nbsp;It took some time, but John was finally on the same page with Anna. "She's the one."&nbsp;&nbsp;

HOW WE MET

ORLANDO, FLORIDA. 03.06.19

After five years of courtship, John decided to scoop Anna up for a lifetime to come. They had been through a lot up to this point - with both of their&nbsp;graduations followed by some real&nbsp;ADULTING&nbsp;with a few summers spent in foreign countries,&nbsp;John's busy work schedule as well as&nbsp;his commitment&nbsp;to his church ,and Anna's evening hospital shifts&nbsp;and time-consuming&nbsp;pre-requisite&nbsp;classes for PA&nbsp;school, just to name a few. People questioned how they made long distance work.&nbsp;They made it work through prayer,&nbsp;texting and calling each other every day (thank you, Facetime and Snapchat), lots of I&nbsp;love yous, and then trying to visit each other if not a few times, at least once a month; plus, it was worth it - they were counting down the days until they could be "together together" forever. God's timing is no doubt perfect.&nbsp;John knew he had to make this moment exceptionally special. And, that he did.&nbsp;













Truthfully, Anna might say she likes to be surprised, but she's nosy, and usually figures things out ahead of time. So, when it came to their proposal, Anna was suspecting it. I&nbsp;mean, come on, they've been together for almost six years at this point and they see each other only so often throughout the year!&nbsp;She had a feeling that he was going to propose during their trip to Florida and so, her sister, Christine, told John who adamantly insisted to Anna that, whenever and wherever&nbsp;he was going to propose, it would be at a place special to the both of them, and therefore, not Florida.&nbsp;&nbsp;She got excited, "&nbsp;I bet he's going to propose when we get home from the trip."&nbsp; 













Now, fast forward to their trip. That entire week, they&nbsp;had gone&nbsp;to Clearwater Beach, eaten&nbsp;all over Tampa, and then adventured on rides and sipped on Butterbeer at&nbsp;Universal Studios, all while John had the ring safely tucked away&nbsp;in a sock in his fanny pack.&nbsp;













On the Wednesday morning, right before they were about to leave Orlando, John insisted on going on the ICON&nbsp;Orlando, the tallest observation wheel on the east coast. Anna quickly recoiled due to her fear of heights but finally agreed because, well, he was driving them back to Tampa. "You're going to love this, I&nbsp;promise"&nbsp;he said. "I&nbsp;really doubt that,"&nbsp;she said.&nbsp;













And boy was she wrong. Just as their private capsule peered over the city line and John Legend's All of Me&nbsp;hummed in the background, THERE&nbsp;IT&nbsp;WAS. Cue tears -&nbsp;John got down on one knee and asked&nbsp;Anna to marry him, to which she said "YES!!!!!!!!!!!!"&nbsp;&nbsp;

THE PROPOSAL

Details

Christine (or&nbsp;Thuy Vi)&nbsp;and I&nbsp;have known each other since she was born. People who don't know us, often think we're twins - (do twins even&nbsp;get asked if they're twins? Our parents do&nbsp;mix us up sometimes though...) but, we're complete opposites (also&nbsp;born 15 months apart). She's&nbsp;outspoken with a loud personality, but in the best way possible,&nbsp;and constantly making those around her laugh.&nbsp;Ask her about the time I&nbsp;poorly cut her bangs when I&nbsp;was 8 years old (like uneven bowl cut, poorly cut), and when our mom asked who was to blame, she didn't rat me out.&nbsp;At the end of the day, she's my sister and my best friend.&nbsp;I&nbsp;know I&nbsp;can always count on her with anything and everything, and we always support each other, because, what else are sisters for. I&nbsp;couldn't have asked for a better Maid of Honor!&nbsp;

Christine Nguyen

Jesse has been in my life since the beginning. While we're related somehow distantly, we grew up together and "adopted"&nbsp;each other as "fake"&nbsp;cousins, or really, family. Jesse's the guy to go to for advice or just a good time. We're always going on adventures when we can - whether it be to Atlanta in the good ol' days, going on hiking trips, or jumping off cliffs into cenotes in Cancun, I'm constantly ensured an adrenaline rush.&nbsp;He's easy to be around and will always cheer you up. My life has felt empty since he's moved to Colorado. Just kidding. I&nbsp;miss him but he'll be back soon because who else will buenas noches with him. 

Jesse Lu

Grace and I&nbsp;met in elementary school when her family moved up the street from my house. We initially bonded because we were both like, "Hey!&nbsp;Another Asian in New Canaan!!"&nbsp;But my questions about k-pop on our bus rides home together soon turned into play dates and lemonade stands. We battled high school together, and then even&nbsp;while attending college in different states, we alway made time to catch up with FaceTime calls or mini-dinner dates when we were both home. As my longest best friend to-date, there's no way I&nbsp;could walk down the aisle without her by my side!&nbsp;&nbsp;

Grace Yang

Phong and I&nbsp;first met in middle school. My Asian senses were tingling that first day and we became friends right away. Kind of like the Grace to my Anna, we spent&nbsp;afternoons walking home from school together and would spend hours playing ping pong. We've grown up together and I've seen him mature into this really charming guy. From best dressed to singer-guitar master, wine connoisseur, and volleyball champion, I&nbsp;know we'll be friends for a life time to come. 

Phong Pham

Sang and I&nbsp;have been friends since he came to America. Fresh off the boat and new to our church, our energies hit it off right away and he's been my go-to and right hand man ever since. He's honest and loyal and always making those around him laugh. Every time we hang out, I know it's just going to be a good time having deep discussions or being goof&nbsp;balls. Sang is one of the best people we know - and with moves like his, we have no doubt that he'll be the first one up on the dance floor at the wedding!&nbsp;He's a real one and GT's a lucky girl.&nbsp;

Sang Bui

GT&nbsp;and I&nbsp;first met in Spring 2013. Through the ups and downs of my relationship with John early on, she was always&nbsp;encouraging us, always there for me to confide in, to cry to, and to laugh to. Since then, we've been each others double daters - always going on mini trips to NYC&nbsp;and Boston, poorly influencing each other into shopping trips,&nbsp;and then getting brunch and dinner whenever we can, all while dragging our guys along with us. GT&nbsp;is the absolute sweetest and most thoughtful person&nbsp;I&nbsp;know and I am so lucky to have her in my life!!&nbsp;(#GTandSangNext??)&nbsp;

Minh John is my cousin, but I’ve always looked up to him as more of an older brother. Being level-headed, responsible,  down-to-earth and down to get lit, he’s also been my role model. He taught me the ropes and paved the way for most of us when we were “entering the real world.” With that, I think one of the qualities I love most about Minh John is how kind-hearted he is. He’ll literally take off his shirt for someone who needs it - mind you, I guess I would too if I had abs like him, but it always comes down to the fact that he has genuine intentions. He’s always had my back and I’ll forever be thankful for that.

Minh John Lu

Minh Thu and I&nbsp;first&nbsp;became friends through Tho. From all the&nbsp;three-way calls to the beach trips and late nights out in downtown Philly,&nbsp; sleepovers and girl talks,&nbsp;I would not be where I&nbsp;am today&nbsp;without her!&nbsp;Minh Thu is&nbsp;energetic, positive,&nbsp;eccentric, strong, independent, always down to have fun, and so, so much more. She always brightens up the room and is always encouraging people to be the best version of themselves. Always. And even with our busy schedules, we always&nbsp;find a way back to each other somehow and somewhere; she's basically my sister from another mother! Her parallel parking skills are also something of the legends. (Plus, she helped me say YES&nbsp;TO&nbsp;THE&nbsp;DRESS!!)

Minh Thu Truong

Hung and I&nbsp;first met when I&nbsp;started going to church in the second grade. We weren't friends right away, not sure why. Maybe he was jealous of my good looks. I'm just kidding. We were basically the same growing up. Same age, same interests, same roles at church. As we've matured, he's become one of the most reliable people in my life. He's always taking charge in handling situations and taking care of those around him. He's seen my walk in faith and we've grown spiritually together, to which I'm really thankful for. As a guy who shares the same missions, goals, and visions as me, we've struggled and succeeded together, and I'm looking forward to what's in store for the future. 

Hung Vu

Tram and I first&nbsp;became friends during VAY's Youth Camp (est. 2012) when we were both&nbsp;in the same group. Late night talks bonding over traveling and boys&nbsp;developed into constant calls,&nbsp; snail mail, sharing&nbsp;clothes,&nbsp;and me constantly visiting Vermont. And it&nbsp;was through Tram that John and I&nbsp;first met!!&nbsp;She has the biggest, most caring&nbsp;heart and will make the best&nbsp;PA. And we both agreed that&nbsp;if neither of us make it as PAs,&nbsp;our back-up plan will be to&nbsp;start a wedding planning business together.&nbsp;JK. We're going to be PAs and we're going to&nbsp;open our own clinic&nbsp;together!&nbsp;

Tram Lam

Alyx and I&nbsp;met only a few years ago, but it's like we've known each other forever. With our birthdays only a day apart (#piscesgang), she's my perfect traveling buddy. After our Spring Break escape to Mexico where we visited pyramids, swam in cenotes, and ate real&nbsp;GOOD food, I'm so excited for more adventures with her; whether it be exploring Vermont or new countries. We are literally talking about going to&nbsp;Thailand next (when COVID is over). Overall, I&nbsp;am so thankful to have someone who is so&nbsp;unbelievably down-to-earth, easy-going, adventurous, and curious in my life!

Alyx Belisle

My Mai and I&nbsp;first met when I&nbsp;was 10 and saw his tree house. From that moment&nbsp;I&nbsp;was determined to be his friend. But this didn't happen until several years later.&nbsp;He doesn't remember it like that but commence college, studying at Votey, and ordering Dominoes, he finally became my friend. Real talk though, he's always down for an adventure, from 5 AM&nbsp;fishing trips to talking about backpacking through Thailand or going to see the northern lights. I&nbsp;said Sang is honest but My Mai is brutally honest; brutally honest in a the most&nbsp;refreshing way though.

Adeline is John's (and Anna's soon-to-be)&nbsp;little cousin from Texas.&nbsp;She loves superheroes and is always rocking a silly up-do. She'll make you laugh and smile all at the same time.&nbsp;

Josiah is Anna's (and John's soon-to-be)&nbsp;nephew from Georgia. He's the friendliest toddler and&nbsp;quite the dancer with an affection for music. He'll be turning 3 years old on May 31st, so if you get the chance, please wish him a Happy early Birthday!&nbsp;

Averi is Anna's (and John's soon-to-be) second-cousin (niece) who loves to dance and try new things (by trying new things - I&nbsp;mean, she likes to eat everything!). With the cutest little smile, she's ready to make her grand debut walking down the aisle in February!&nbsp;

WILL YOU HAVE AN OPEN BAR? 

Yes, OF&nbsp;COURSE! The whole night is open bar, so please arrive thirsty and drink the night away!&nbsp;But&nbsp;our wedding will be heavily photographed...so any drunken shenanigans will be captured and saved for years to come...you've been warned.&nbsp;

ARE KIDS INVITED? 

There are so many special little people in our lives and we really wish we could invite them all. We have invited children whom we are particularly close to as a couple. We love all of our friends and families kids but WE&nbsp;ONLY&nbsp;HAVE&nbsp;ROOM&nbsp;FOR&nbsp;A&nbsp;FEW. If your children aren't listed on your invitation, please accept our apologies... and think of it as a chance to blow off some steam and take the night off! We are offering a kid's meal option of chicken nuggets for those under 12.&nbsp;

IS THERE PARKING? 

Yes! There is enough (FREE!) parking for all of our guests at the venue.

WHERE'S THE CEREMONY? 

Both our ceremony and reception will be held at Aria Wedding and Banquet Facility in Prospect, CT.&nbsp;

The weather in Connecticut at the end of May&nbsp;&nbsp;is typically in the low to mid 70's. But as our ceremony will be outside, please be prepared for that!&nbsp;Fingers crossed for no rain!&nbsp;But if it does, hey, that's okay :) our ceremony will be under the covered terrace.&nbsp;

As for arrival time, along as the bride can remain on time, the ceremony will start promptly&nbsp;at 6pm. Please plan to be at the venue by at least 5:45, earlier if you would like to reserve a good seat! 



Bad allergies? Stock up on flo-nase and claritin, the flowers are in full bloom.&nbsp;

SO, DINNER - BUFFET OR SIT-DOWN? 

Dinner will be sit down style. Please select a meal when you RSVP&nbsp;online or&nbsp;choose a meal on the RSVP card once you receive it in the mail. We're sure whichever dinner you choose, it will not disappoint!
