Q + A

Will Anne change her last name?

No. She will retain "Winslow" as her last name. Doug will retain "Miller" as his. Sometime we play around with combo last names: Winsller; Millslow; Millow; Winler. What's your fav?

What exactly is "cocktail casual" attire?

Great question! It's less formal than "black tie" but it's not jean shorts and t-shirts. We want everyone to be comfortable and ready to dance, but also look great in the pictures! Bridal colors are botanical greens and navy, with lots of spring flower colors as accents! Women - tea length or shorter dresses, although if you want to wear a gown, go for it! Sparkles and sequins optional. Men - button up shirt and trousers with jacket preferred. Suits are completely optional. Tie would look awesome, but your choice. Come dressed in a color that makes you happy!

Are children welcome to the reception?

Yes, if they were included on your invitation. Our own 7 grandchildren will be present, unless any need to leave and go to bed. Our food includes a pasta bar to appeal to all ages, and we plan to have assorted games (like bags) available for anyone to play. Both live and DJ'd music will play throughout the night, so if you wish to bring ear protection for your young child, we highly recommend it. However, if you would prefer to have an adult-only date night with your significant other, we welcome that decision!

Will there be alcohol at your reception?

Yes. There is a full bar located within the venue, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. We will have an open bar up to a certain limit, at which point it will become a cash bar. Also, The Ridgemont bar is adjacent to and accessible from Sherwood Forest Event Center. However, you cannot enter the event center from the Ridgemont. You must go through the Sherwood Forest main doors.

Anything happening Saturday night before the wedding?

We are so excited to see everyone and want to spend as much time with those coming in to town to be part of the celebration. We will definitely have something happening Saturday night, but we aren't sure what. Keep checking back or even better, reach out to us with ideas!
