This free, walkable multi-block area is home to some beautiful, unique and whimsical large sculptures. You can get close to them all, but please do not touch, sit or climb on any of them.
This historic neighborhood is located just east of downtown Des Moines, between the Des Moines River and the Iowa State Capitol building. There are lots of restaurants, boutiques, shops, bars, interesting architecture and public art. Main roads include E. Grand, Locust, Walnut and Court between E. 1st - 6th Avenues.
The Iowa Cubs are a minor league MLB team and Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. They have three home games against the Indianapolis Indians on our wedding weekend, including: Saturday, May 25 at 6:08pm; and Sunday, May 26 at 1:08pm. Ticket sales website linked below.
This historic area is considered the official "downtown" of West Des Moines. There are lots of restaurants, bars, shops, antique stores, art galleries, and events on this walkable street. The best old fashion in town can be found at The Winchester Public House bar.
This historic, 36-lane bowling alley is the largest in the Des Moines area. Open lanes are available until midnight every night.
