Annelise and Matthew have been coming to Engelheim Vineyards for years. (You might have received a bottle of Hummingbird from us as a Christmas, birthday, or holiday gift at some point!) We first found out about the vineyard from Matthew’s internship boss at the Capitol, Emily Engel. Her family owns the vineyard and creates the most decadent wines, and we love the atmosphere of the North Georgia mountains. This has become one of our favorite spots to spend time together, and we can’t wait to share it with you on our wedding day.
What's the lodging situation?
Autumn brings a lot of tourism to the North Georgia mountains, so we recommend booking your accommodations early! There are great cabin rentals (that are usually more cost-effective than hotel rooms!) in both Ellijay and Blue Ridge, and there are some newer hotel options in both cities. Lodging in Ellijay would put you closer to our venue at Engelheim Vineyards. We've linked our recommendations on the Lodging tab.
Can I leave my car at the venue overnight?
Engelheim does not allow for overnight parking for guests, so please plan accordingly. Pre-booking an Uber or Lyft ride would be a good transportation alternative.
How will you communicate any updated information and/or changes before the wedding?
In the coming months, we’ll be updating the website with details as we finalize plans with our vendors and providers. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, we will post any important changes that may occur after formal invitations are sent out. We will reach out to guests directly with any major scheduling changes.
What's the best way to contact you if I have additional questions?
Please email us at chickwedding2024@gmail.com. Annelise and Matthew both monitor this account and receive phone notifications from it.
