This is when the bridegroom begins his procession accompanied by family and friends and of course a whole lot of fan fare.

"Milni" literally means to meet and greet. This is where the Bride's parents greet and meet the Bridegroom's family. Typically sweets and hugs are exchanged. Bride's mother will welcome the Groom with a small prayer and then the Bride's parents will usher the Groom to the wedding ceremony.

Look out for the intense negotiation called Joota (shoe) Chopai (hide) between the Bride's sisters and the Groom as he tries to retrieve his shoes from them after the wedding ceremony.
