The ceremony will take place indoors at the Banquet Room at the Rhododendron Lodge in Breaks Interstate Park, followed by the reception immediately afterwards.
Will there be outdoor seating at the ceremony?
There will not be arranged outdoor seating at Clinchfield Overlook. However, there are rocks and locations to sit on or up against.
I have food allergies, what do I do?
Please let Craig and I know so we can let catering know. They do not provide ingredient cards at the reception dinner which is buffet style.
What is the appropriate attire?
We don't think of ourselves as fancy but we would like everyone to dress formal for the wedding since it is a very special occasion for us. Dresses and suits please. However, keep in mind the ceremony is outside and there will be stairs so wear comfortable shoes or bring an extra pair.
What is the alcohol situation?
No alcohol is allowed in the Banquet Room for the reception. With that said, you can always get creative. Just be safe!
What lodging is available?
The Breaks Interstate Park has lodging in the form of cabins, cottages, camping, and lodge rooms.
There is also a local motel nearby called Gateway to the Breaks Motel.
A little further from the venue but closer to amenities is Pikeville, KY. There are more options here.
Please let Craig and I know if you have any issues regarding lodging.
Is the ceremony private?
We changed the location of the ceremony from Stateline Overlook to Clinchfield (just to the left of it; there will be signs) so we have a more intimate setting. However, the location is still public and we are not allowed to block anything off. We do not mind sharing :-)
How do I get to Breaks Interstate Park if I'm coming from out-of-state?
The best thing will be to fly to the nearest airport which is CRW in Charleston, WV. Then, either rent a vehicle, carpool with another guest, or let us know and we can see if we can arrange something.
Where do I park for the ceremony?
Follow the main road heading toward the back of the park
and follow the signs for Clinchfield Overlook where there is a parking lot. Once you park, take the path down to the Clinchfield Overlook. At the end you will take the path to the left that leads you to a more intimate setting and another amazing overlook. There will be signs to follow :-)
Do you have a wedding registry?
No, please consider your presence gift enough. All of our guests are coming from out of state and travel and lodging are expensive enough.
