What should I wear for the ceremony and reception?
For the wedding, our attire is formal.
For men, a tuxedo is not required, but you are welcome to wear one if you would like. A nice suit and tie is also perfect for the wedding and reception.
For women, a floor-length gown is great but not required. Women may also wear a fancy cocktail dress, a dressy jumpsuit, or a midi dress.
What should I wear for the welcome party?
For the welcome party, our attire is Texas chic. This means nice jeans or pants with a collared shirt or button down, skirts or sundresses all paired with cowboy boots and/or cowboy hats.
What will the weather be like this time of year?
In the early summer, New Orleans is hot and humid. You can also expect some pop-up showers, but they rarely last the whole day.
Are the event venues indoors or outdoors?
All of our venues are indoors and have air conditioning!
If I'm wearing high heels, should I worry about bringing a change of shoes for the second line?
Ladies! You probably won't want to wear high heels through the streets of the French Quarter! So, if you can remember, we recommend bringing a change of shoes to wear for the second line and after party.
If you forget, no worries! We will have flip flops waiting for you by the dance floor.
What is a Second Line?
The New Orleans Second Line symbolizes the couple beginning their new life together. It's a parade in the street led by a band, followed by the newlyweds, who hold hand-decorated umbrellas, then the rest of the bridal party and guests who shake handkerchiefs and dance. Tradition says that the shaking of the umbrellas and handkerchiefs is meant to cast away spirits and curses from the couple's marriage!
How will I get to and from the ceremony?
We will have coach buses available to take guests to and from the ceremony. The pick-up and drop-off location will be The Roosevelt Hotel at the Baronne Street entrance. Pick-up for the ceremony will be at 1:00 pm. Please be on time!
