Ariel and Ian’s story began as one would expect—on a volleyball court in the middle of a pandemic. What started as friendly competition quickly turned into easy laughter and long conversations off the court. Though the timing wasn’t right at first, Ariel’s best friend Kayla encouraged Ian to be patient. Eventually, patience paid off, and when the moment finally came, Ian didn’t hesitate.Their first date was a Colin Hay concert that came with its own set of challenges: a surprise rainstorm and a spilled glass of wine (courtesy of Ariel). But even drenched and slightly stained, they had a wonderful time—and neither of them looked back.As their relationship deepened, Ariel brought not just herself into Ian’s life, but also two very cuddly companions. Ian happily welcomed all three into his once pet-hair-free home, and together they soon added a new dog to the mix. With their furry family growing, they’ve begun searching for a home that fits them all perfectly.From spontaneous weekend getaways to far-flung adventures abroad, Ariel and Ian have discovered they’re the best kind of travel partners—curious, adventurous, and always up for anything. Whether they’re exploring new places, hitting the slopes, or competing side by side on the volleyball court (yes, they still play!), they’ve found their favorite teammate in each other.Ariel and Ian are at their happiest surrounded by their amazing friends and family. After four incredible years together, they can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of their story—with all of you.

Chloe is Ariel’s older sister — and though it all began with her telling their mom to “take it back” to the hospital when Ariel was born, it quickly grew into an incredible sisterhood and friendship. A paramedic, a talented artist, and one of the strongest people Ariel knows, Chloe faces every challenge with courage and determination. Her resilience, creativity, and dedication inspire Ariel every day and motivate her to be her best self.

Ian met Ryon (aka Pax) in the CU dorms, where their friendship was forged over hammocks and questionable life choices. Ian was the best man at Pax’s wedding, and now Ian couldn't be happier to have Pax as his. Pax is the introvert to Ian’s extrovert, the calm to his chaos. Together they have survived CU football games, Country Jam adventures, MIPs, and more drunken nights than either of them cares to admit. Through it all, Pax has always been there—quiet, loyal, and just sometimes the voice of reason.

Ryon Pax

Ariel and Kayla met in 7th grade and have been nearly inseparable ever since. Kayla is fiercely intelligent and passionate — never afraid to stand up for what she believes in, and especially for her friends and loved ones. She’s the one who will debate you, challenge you, and still be the first to show up when you need her most — Ariel’s true ride-or-die. And when the walls come down, she’s the perfect match to Ariel’s brand of crazy.

Brad and Ian met sophomore year of College. They bonded over their shared idiotic sense of humor, relentless stubbornness, and inability to say no to a good time. If there's fun to be had, Brad is always Ian's first call. From spontaneous adventures to legendary vacations, some of Ian’s best memories almost always include Brad. He’s ridiculously likable, endlessly loyal, and the kind of friend who makes life way more entertaining (and occasionally more chaotic).

Brittany and Ariel met during the craziness of Covid, quickly finding comfort and laughter in each other’s company. From hiking trails to doggy dates, their adventures together have become some of Ariel’s favorite memories. Brittany always goes the extra mile for her friends and is the best listener when she can’t be there in person. She’s the kind of friend where time and distance never matter — their friendship only grows stronger.

Ian's older brother Nick has always been the spark behind Ian's competitive spirit and borderline obsession with sports. From a young age, Nick pushed Ian to be better and never stop trying to improve, not just in sports but in life. Nick has been a role model - someone easy to look up to but hard to emulate. His drive, determination and unwavering ambition inspired Ian throughout his life and continue to do so today.

Katy and Ariel met through mutual friends several years ago and quickly connected through their kindhearted spirits and creative nature. Known for her boundless generosity and warm heart, Katy is always the first to give and the last to expect anything in return. She gives unwavering support to her friends and will be your biggest cheerleader — just as she was for Delylah's Tacos. She is also a great hype woman on the dancefloor!

Ian’s younger brother Cody has always felt more like a partner than just a sibling. From teaming up against their older brother Nick as kids to exploring the world together as adults, Cody has been by Ian's side. He has the biggest heart of anyone Ian knows, and Ian deeply admires his courage to follow it—whether that means moving over-seas, changing careers, or simply being there for the people he loves. Cody's bravery and authenticity are traits Ian has always revered.

Anthony (AKA Handsome Anthony) is Ariel’s longest friend in Colorado. They met in 2013 while working at a restaurant, and their friendship quickly took off. What started as sneaking breaks together at work turned into weekends full of cooking, game nights, and exploring new hiking trails. So easily befriended, he’s become part of all of Ariel’s different friend groups. Anthony is loyal and passionate, and Ariel greatly admires his drive — when he finds something he loves, he gives it 110%.

Ian and Will started work on the same day at Kahuna in 2013. Early on, they discovered a shared love of Jackson Hole—where Will’s wife is from—and even realized they had attended the same party at UW not long before joining the company. Their friendship flourished when they teamed up for the company golf league under the name “Putt Buddies,” a name that has since evolved to become a motto for their friendship: PBFL!
Will is one of the most steadfast and dependable friends anyone could ask for—always ready to lend a hand and often, the first person Ian turns to for advice. His personable nature shines through in every interaction, and he exemplifies what it means to be not just a great friend but also a loving husband and father.

Travel to Lake Bohinj

Lake Bohinj is tucked in the heart of the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia, about 60 minutes from Ljubljana and surrounded by Triglav National Park — a stunning but somewhat remote location.Here’s everything you need to know about getting there: By Air ✈️The closest and most convenient airport is Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU) — approximately 1 hour by car from Lake Bohinj.However, several nearby international airports offer good options, often with more direct flights from the U.S. and Europe: ✈️ Ljubljana (LJU) – ~1.5 hours by car✈️ Venice Marco Polo (VCE) – ~3.5 hours by car✈️ Zagreb (ZAG) – ~3 hours by car✈️ Munich (MUC) – ~4.5 hours by car✈️ Vienna (VIE) – ~4.5 to 5 hours by car Most guests traveling from Denver or Chicago will likely connect through Frankfurt, Munich, London, or Paris. Getting There

I think almost everyone here knows how to dress appropriately for a wedding. If you have something that pushes the boundaries, we are definitely for it, just let us know what you're thinking.

Dress Code

We expect everyone to be there for at least two nights, so some hotel blocks are just for 2 nights (Friday Sept 18th - Sunday Sept 20th) while others can be extended for up to 4 nights (Thursday Sept 17th - Monday Sept 21st). If you would like to stay longer that is fine too just talk with the hotel. Please reach out to the Bride and Groom with any questions about bookings.

We have a block under the name&nbsp;Ariel Bach, guests can send their inquires to the reception email –&nbsp;<a href="mailto:hotelbohinj@alpinia-group.si" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">hotelbohinj@alpinia-group.si</a> They can add the code ArielIan2026. Feel free to stay anywhere nearby, there are several hotels in the area.

This is where reception will be after the ceremony. All the rooms have been previously reserved by the bride and groom, but they will need to be assigned to guests. If you would like to stay at this hotel, reach out to the Bride and Groom. Otherwise, they will reach out to certain guests to assign them rooms.

Valley station - Vogel Cable Car

Two electric boats, the Zlatorog and the Triglavska roža, run on Lake Bohinj between Ribčev Laz and Ukanc and vice versa.You can choose between a one-way or a return journey. Get off at the other side of Lake Bohinj and return along the northern or southern shore to your starting point, or visit the sights nearby and re-board one of the later rides.

Lake Bled is a lake in the Julian Alps of the Upper Carniolan region of northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled. There are many tourist activities to do, plenty of restaurants, and sights to see.

There are walks and hiking trails around Lake Bohinj to suit all abilities. Enjoy a gentle walk along the shore of Lake Bohinj and discover beautiful waterfalls with a hike to Slap Savica or the Mostnica Gorge.
