Our Love Story!!

Picture of Our Love Story!!

Let’s set the scene, in 2018 we found ourselves in Greenville, NC with low expectations and high aspirations. We were both starting our graduate education to become Physician Assistants, something we both were very passionate about doing. With a small class size in a small town, we quickly became friends, bonding over our love of sports, competition, good food, family and remembering to never make school our only priority. Along with our classmates, we enjoyed afternoons of volleyball, trips to the NC mountains, HIIT workouts, and game nights that ultimately revealed, no matter what the activity, we enjoyed them most together. This crush evolved and slowly the town learned that it could find us shooting pool at Mac Billiards on Tuesdays, cheffing it up while watching football at Matt & Walt’s apartment in The Heritage, or planning the next group activity, when we weren’t studying, of course. That was until one day in March 2020, when school was placed on pause and we decided to make our way to Raleigh for quarantine.

It is not lost on us that our decision to move in with Matt’s mom, sister and future brother-in-law after “officially” dating for only a month was a bit bold, but then again, have you known us to do anything half-assed? We spent the next three months diving into our relationship and integrating seamlessly into each other’s families. What could have been an intimidating experience turned into one of gratitude, as we were constantly reminded of how lucky we are to have families that support and accept us unconditionally and truly only want to see us happy.

We eventually got back to school and graduated in 2020 with our sights set on a new adventure. We packed up everything we owned and headed west til we reached the Rocky Mountains. Denver immediately felt a little more like home with Aunt Susan (known to many as Tete), Mike, Jack & Holly welcoming us with open arms. We were lucky enough to find a home to rent that would one day become the first home we own together. This house on Saint Paul has already been filled with guests whether it’s for a weekend or a month, the smells of smoking meats before a Friendsgiving feast, the cheers of an Avalanche & Nuggets championship, and friendly jabs in the midst of competitive games of Blokus, code names or euchre. We landed jobs in our preferred specialities of primary care and urology and have enjoyed growing our knowledge and practice in these positions still today. Despite the activities changing, they certainty did not slow down. With every season we are excited for new adventures, expanding our hobbies and welcoming new visitors.

In May 2023, after one of us had been gallivanting in Barcelona with her sister, the other half was planning and executing the most magical engagement weekend full of everything we love. At the summit of a hike with some of our best friends to witness, we were engaged. We spent the weekend celebrating with our families, sharing stories over delectable food, watching the Rockies miraculously win, solving a family escape room, and, most importantly, soaking in the bliss of starting our forever together.

Since February 2021, we’ve grown so much as individuals and in our relationship. We’ve also grown to feel that Colorado is our home, which is why ultimately we decided to invite all of you to join us here in celebration of our marriage. We hope you enjoy the place where we’ve conquered our first double black diamond, hiked more miles than can be counted, and watched mako defy gravity sprinting up and down cliffs. If you love it like we do, it’s never too late to extend your stay indefinitely!!

August 2024, we’re ready for you!!!
