How will I receive my save the date and wedding invite?
Both have been sent by mail.
When is the RSVP deadline? How do I RSVP?
Please RSVP as soon as you possibly can. Our deadline will be September 28th. Our RSVPs will be handled online through this site. If needed, you could also call/text the bride/groom instead. Select the RSVP tab, search your name, and RSVP from there. If you are having trouble, please contact the bride or groom.
Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors. The ceremony will be taking place in the Gooseberry Falls Room. The reception will take place in the Lake Superior Ballroom.
What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
The dress code is semi-formal to formal, whichever you prefer. Ladies should wear cocktail or full length dresses. Men should wear a suit or tux and an optional tie or bowtie. We kindly ask that you don't wear black or white to follow our vision. (This doesn't include black tuxes/suits, these are okay. No black shirts though ;))
Note: Bridesmaids and groomsmen are in red.
Is there a theme?
Yes! The theme of our wedding is dark fantasy. We want to bring in our favorite holiday but make it more elegant. During this time of changing colors, spooky songs, and all over fun, we want our celebration to have a classy, spooky vibe.
What are the colors?
Our colors are red, black, white, and gold.
What will the weather be like?
Though we cannot predict what may happen, we expect it to feel chilly with the fall breeze. During this time of year, Duluth tends to be colder with wind by the lake.
Are kids welcome?
Yes, but please note that we will not be catering our choices to children. Music will be uncensored, drinks will be had, and your children will be your responsibility.
Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?
During the ceremony, we ask that all phones and cameras be turned off. We would like to keep our ceremony media-free as it is special to us. Our photographer will capture this moment. During the reception, we encourage guests to take and post pictures on their social media channels. Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #QAWedding so we can go back and enjoy our celebration all over again!
What happens after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, all guests will be escorted to the reception hall where we will begin a cocktail hour. During this time, the wedding party, including close family, will be taking pictures nearby.
Where should guests park? Is parking free?
Guests will be asked to park in the DECC parking or parking ramp. Unfortunately, parking is not free. We recommend parking at your hotel and walking over if you are staying close by.
How do I get to and from the wedding venue?
Most hotels and attractions are within walking distance of the venue. Driving will also be another good way to get around the Duluth area. Public transportation will also be available if you so choose. Please look at our travel section for more exact directions.
Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?
Yes! The ceremony space and reception space are both wheelchair accessible.
Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?
Yes! Both food and drink will be provided. We are planning a fajita buffet for dinner.
Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?
We can only accommodate what we know, so if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let the bride and groom know when you RSVP. We will do our best to accommodate.
Will there be an open bar?
No. However, there will be a cash bar available.
Will I need my ID for the bar?
Yes! The DECC will ID everyone there to ensure no one underage is being served. Please have your ID ready when you go to the bar.
What time should I arrive?
We ask that you arrive 15 to 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled! Doors open for the ceremony at 4.
Can I bring a date?
We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you have any concerns, please contact the bride or groom.
What should I do if I can't make it?
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
How will we communicate any updated information and/or changes before the wedding?
We will send out text messages, phone calls, or emails if something changes that will be necessary to know.
Will there be an after party?
TBD
What fun things can you do if you're visiting from out of town?
Check out our things to do tab on this website to see a list of fun activities you can do around the area!
Can I bring my gift to the celebration?
Yes! Gifts can be brought in and dropped off in the designated area.
Can I bring cash instead?
Absolutely! Though nothing is expected or forced, we are grateful for anything.
Where are you registered?
We are registered through The Knot, Target, and Amazon. Under the registry tab, everything is added together.
I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?
The best way to reach either the bride and groom is through a simple text or phone call. We do have an email address for all things wedding as well:
qandaweddingplanning@gmail.com
You may also reach out to the mother of the bride if needed.
Notes
We understand that the 2024 election will be close by and politics may be in people's minds but we ask that all political matters be left at the door. This is a day of fun and love, not politics.
