From two coworkers goofing off on the job—Jakob always volunteering to bag when Ashlee was on register—a lighthearted friendship quickly took root. What started with shared laughs and inside jokes soon blossomed into a deep and lasting connection.

Their story began at Publix Super Market on Blanding Boulevard, where Ashlee started working shortly after Jakob joined the team in 2020.

In the midst of a global pandemic, when masks became a necessity and social distancing was the norm, a strong friendship formed between Jakob Bryant, Ashlee Erdman, Rebekah Martel, and Eric Buttler. They called themselves the Fantastic Four, experiencing the must-do's of early adulthood together.

Over time, Ashlee and Jakob’s connection grew. One chilly night after a bonfire, they ended up skating through the quiet streets of Jacksonville Beach. Jakob offered Ashlee his jacket, and later, as they talked in his car, they both admitted they had feelings for someone. When Ashlee asked who Jakob liked, he stepped out, fogged up the car window, and wrote one word: YOU.

From their first late-night Taco Bell run with Sydney Burton and Yaxel Robles to deep, late-night conversations and beachside skate sessions, their bond only grew stronger.

Today, Ashlee and Jakob live together with their cats, Kodi and Remi. They’ve been together for five years, sharing a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Jakob works in engineering, and Ashlee in advertising. In their free time, they love playing pickleball, painting, and playing video games together. Every day, they continue to grow as a couple, building a relationship filled with joy, understanding, and support.
