You're getting married on an Island?! How do I get there?
We sure are! Peaks Island is a short 15-minute ferry ride from Portland. You will catch the ferry at the Casco Bay Lines ferry terminal (56 Commercial St, Portland, ME). We recommend that you catch the 4:30 pm ferry to Peaks Island. Seats are on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please make sure you allow sufficient time to purchase your tickets and secure your spot (they fill up and can sell out)!
The ceremony and reception will be held at Jones Landing on Peaks Island, located immediately to your left upon disembarking from the ferry.
For additional information on how to get there, please refer to the "Travel" section.
Do we need to purchase ferry tickets in advance?
No, there is no need to purchase passenger tickets in advance. Tickets are not time or date specific, so they do not guarantee you a spot on any specific boat. We recommend arriving at the terminal about 30-40 minutes ahead of time, which will give you plenty of time to purchase your tickets and wait for the boat to start boarding.
Can I purchase a round-trip ferry ticket?
All of the ferry tickets are round-trip. They collect your tickets when you get on the boat in Portland and you do not need a ticket to board a later boat coming back from the island.
Can I purchase ferry tickets online or over the phone?
Casco Bay Lines does not sell tickets over the phone. All tickets should be purchased at the terminal in Portland.
Are kids welcome?
While we adore your little ones, we have decided to host an adults-only wedding. We hope you understand and embrace this opportunity to relax, let your hair down, and celebrate with us!
Should I stay in Portland or on Peaks Island?
Totally up to you!
If you're looking to relax and enjoy the beautiful views and shores of Maine, Peaks Island might be for you!
If you're looking to explore Portland and nearby towns, staying in Portland is recommended.
Keep in mind that the wedding will be the only event on the island, so it truly depends on personal preference and either option is a great one!
You don't have a hotel room block?
Unfortunately, no. I am afraid that most hotels in Portland do not provide room blocks for weddings. Please refer to the "Travel & Accommodations" page for our recommended hotels in the area. Airbnb and Vrbo are also great options. Given that September is a busy and popular month for tourists, we recommend booking accommodations as soon as possible
What should I wear?
Attire: Cocktail.
Our ceremony will be outdoors. Ladies - sandals, flats, or block heels are recommended. Shawls or jackets are also recommended as there may be a light ocean breeze
