Ferry Times:
Our ceremony begins at 5 pm, so we suggest catching the 4:30 pm ferry to Peaks Island, which is a short 15-minute ride. If you plan to drive to the ferry terminal, paid parking is available on-site, and there are also additional paid parking lots in the vicinity of the terminal. However, we recommend taking an Uber or taxi to the ferry terminal as parking downtown can be limited and expensive. Ferry tickets are $14 roundtrip
Jones Landing is immediately to your left upon disembarking the ferry.
Returning ferries from Peaks Island to Portland, ME, are available at 6pm, 7:45pm 8:45 pm, 9:45 pm, 10:55 pm, and 11:55 pm.
Further Details:
For ferry ticket purchases, please proceed inside the Casco Bay Lines building. One ticket is required per person. The ticket covers your travel for both ways. You do NOT need a ticket to depart Peaks Island. For more information, please refer to the Casco Bay Ferry FAQ and Ferry Schedule
Water Taxis:
If you happen to miss the ferry, prefer private transportation to the island, or wish for an earlier return to Portland, feel free to reach out to a water taxi. Foggs Water Taxi is recommended and can be reached at 207-415-8493 or reservations@foggswatertaxi.com. Further information is also available on their website
The closest airport to Peaks Island is Portland International Jetport (PWM), which is about a 15-minute drive to downtown Portland and the ferry terminal. The airport offers rental vehicles and there are also ubers and taxis available.
Please make sure you are flying into Portland, ME, and NOT Portland, OR - it's happened before :)
Most hotels in Portland do not provide room blocks for weddings, but here are some hotels that we recommend in the area! Airbnb and VRBO are alternative accommodation options as well. See below for hotel options both downtown and in the South Portland/Airport area.
These hotels are about a 5 minute walk from the Ferry Terminal. These options will be a bit pricier during the summertime months.
These hotels are a 15-20 minute taxi or Uber ride to the Ferry Terminal and Downtown Portland. We recommend taking a taxi or Ubers as parking downtown can be limited and expensive.
If you would like to stay in this area, we would not recommend staying at the Days Inn or Comfort Inn.
