October is the perfect time to visit Mallorca to enjoy an incredible late summer on the Island. With Summer crowds gone but the weather and water still warm, you can enjoy everything the island has to offer from its beautiful beaches, sheltered coves, limestone mountains, charming hilltop towns, and more.
Visit Palma's picturesque Old Town to find a little of everything, ancient buildings, a beautiful seafront location, stunning scenery, amazing restaurants and lots of great shopping.
Places of interest:
* cathedral of Mallorca
* wander along the Passeig des Born and Las Ramblas
* Plaza Major, Plaza Espana or Plaza de Cort
Take a day trip from Palma to Port De Sóller. Tren de Sóller is a 27km long railway line opened in 1912, connecting Palma to Soller, a beautiful mountain town on the north part of the island. The ride is only about an hour and costs about €25 round trip. Tickets can be purchased online here. It runs multiple times a day giving you the opportunity to explore, from there, there is a cable car that will take you down to Port de Soller so no car is needed!
(40 minute drive from Palma) Perched in a ravine at the foot of the Teix mountains, with views out to the Mediterranean below, Deià is worth a stop. There are a few interesting small boutiques, galleries and shops in the village, and plenty of places to eat and drink. We visited on our trip and it was beautiful!
if you head up to deia, cala deia is close by! it's a tiny, rocky cove beach with clear water. The beach itself is only about 70-meters long and is mostly small pebbles and large rocks, so the real attraction is getting a drink and food at Ca’s Patro March. Note that it is a very narrow and windy road down to the beach.
