Chaz and Ashley met on a Carnival Cruise 3 and a half years ago, on July 24th, 2011. They were both spending the week with their families. Ashley first remembers seeing Chaz on the upper deck with his brother Zach. Based on their size difference, she never thought they would have been brothers! Chaz first remembers seeing Ashley in the Casino bar on the boat. She was wearing a yellow dress and drinking a glass of wine (with her pinky up of course.) He claims she was staring for what seemed like an eternity. Coincidentally, both families liked country music and enjoyed watching Cooper's Run, a country band made up of a husband and wife from New Zealand. While watching them perform, someone let out the famous O-H!. Every one responded I-O. Chaz's brother asked Ashley, "You are from Ohio?" Here we found out that the two families lived a half an hour a way from each other. Ashley began talking to Chaz. She asked how old he was. He said he was 20! (He was really only 19, but was given strict orders by his brother to say that he was no younger than 20.) Ashley and Chaz had an immediate connection and hung out the entire cruise from then on out. When they got home from their family vacations, they continued to meet....and well the rest is history!

Chaz proposed on December 28, 2014 while both his and Ashley's families were again on another cruise together. On the first day at sea, Chaz wanted to pop the question and made a plan with the cruise director. He came up and interviewed Chaz. When he asked Chaz, "Are you celebrating anything this week?" Chaz responded, "Well I think we are going to be celebrating an engagement." He got down on one knee in front of a whole deck of people and asked Ashley to marry him. Of course she said yes!
