“There’s no better love that ever has loved me”
First and foremost, we want to thank everyone for coming and celebrating this major milestone with us! We are thrilled to be getting married and excited to have so much support from our family and friends!
While many of you know our story, we would like to take a moment to refresh everyone’s minds:
We met in the dog days of nursing school at USC Upstate in August of 2019. We spent orientation day together, and had several classes together, but never really communicated until January of 2020; where we had all of our classes together. Coming fresh off of Christmas break, Philip came into our Med-Surg class with a beard (this is where Ashley really noticed Phil.) As a poor attempt at flirting, she said “Hey Phil! Do you think they’ll let you keep that beard in clinical?” (Clinical had a strong no beard policy.) Apparently, at this time, Philip was also interested in Ashley, but both were too shy to really say anything. As the bleak months of January and February passed, we began to talk more, and even study together. Then, everything changed when COVID-19 hit in March of 2020. With all of our classes and clinicals online, we had resorted to snapchat and eventually texting each other. However, in May of 2020, Ashley went to see her best friend Kat down in Charleston, SC, where she told Kat about her interest in Philip. Kat suggested that Ashley take a leap of faith and ask Philip on a date.
Philip and Ashley met about a week after she came back from Charleston at Delany’s Irish Pub in Spartanburg as friends. After an evening of good laughter, Philip asked Ashley on a real date at Monsoon Noodle House on May 30th, 2020, and the rest is history.
