What is the best way to get to Mammoth Lakes?

LA locals and West Coast residents: We highly recommend you DRIVE. (Mammoth Mountain is about 300 miles north of Los Angeles, or approximately 5 hours driving.) Although snowfall is less likely this time of year, there WILL be snow on the mountain and snow chains may be required in town.
