The two closest airports are RDU (Raleigh-Durham) and GSO (Piedmont Triad International Airport).

RDU has a multitude of direct flight options, especially from the northeast (we see you, Riley fam). It would be about an hour's drive to downtown Greensboro from there.

GSO you'll have a layover to get to but it's much closer to Greensboro/wedding festivities.

There are plenty of options for places to stay within the Greensboro area - fancy, chill, downtown, quiet side of things, etc.

There are quite a few airport associated hotels around the intersection of I-40 and Rte 68 (west of downtown Greensboro). Here's three to start:
