Taylor and Austin met at the College of St. Scholastica in the PA Medicine program in fall of 2021. They were part of the same friend group from the beginning and became closer through intramural volleyball and bachelor/ette Mondays each week.

In early October Taylor went to an event Austin hosted called "Books and Brews". This consisted of studying at a local brewery. For all of you that do not know, Taylor hates beer, so clearly there was an alternative motive to her showing up at different breweries each month to study with the group. Then a small group went golfing in early October. Again, Austin loves to golf and Taylor hadn't golfed in years, but surprisingly, she did quite well! By this time, her family and roommates knew something was up, because she would normally never be one to willingly go to breweries or go play golf in the mist and fog.

In late October Austin invited himself over to Taylor's place to play cribbage and eat snacks. They didn't finish one game of cribbage because they ended up talking and getting to know each other better until midnight. This became a theme, and talking and learning more about each other late into the night became later and later until one night it was even as late as 3am. Austin has a very routine bed time of 10:30pm, so again, this had to be something special for him to be staying up so late.

In early November, Austin asked Taylor out on a date, and she said yes. Their hectic school schedule didn't leave them much free time, and they had to plan around exams and testing. From the time Austin asked Taylor on a date to their first date was a 3 week waiting period. On their first date, it was a beautiful, 50 degree November 23rd day in Duluth (yes it happens!) where they went for a walk on the Lakewalk beginning at the Rose Garden and then had dinner at Clyde Iron Works, again staying up late sitting in the car talking afterwards.

They continued to go on dates for a few months, and Austin met Taylor's parents in February and Taylor met Austin's family in March of 2022. Over the next handful of months, they went on lots of adventures, including visiting Stillwater, La Crosse, Austin's sister in Kansas City, Valleyfair, chasing lots of waterfalls, Bayfield, numerous ice cream dates, going deer hunting, and going to weddings.

Clinical year came around and Austin moved to Brainerd in early 2023, while Taylor was in Virginia, MN and then Duluth, leaving only weekends to see each other and driving to and from each other's places. Leaving each other every weekend really made them realize that they didn't want to live without or away from one another. So on May 6, 2023 on a misty/rainy "spring" day in Duluth, Austin took Taylor for a fun day consisting of going to Hartley Nature Center and Austin proposing. Taylor said yes, and they spent the day with their families in Duluth. From then, the wedding planning commenced!
