Their story begins in the spring of 2019, when the Maid of Honour- Breece Allsen- was throwing her 22nd birthday party.

Ally had become best friends with Breece in the previous year during their first semester of nursing school. What impressed Ally about Breece was that she maintained the same close knit group of friends that she had since middle school. These friends would be in attendance at her birthday party, one of which being Austin.

Their initial meeting was brief, and to be honest neither of them remember it quite that well. However, as time went on they saw each other more frequently within the group and their feelings for one another became increasingly obvious…to everybody except themselves.

The running joke for a few years was that if they ever got married, their last name would become “Smith-Smith”, or “Smith squared”. This is also a formal announcement that they are neither related, nor hyphenating their last names.

In the Summer of 2023, Austin and Ally finally made their relationship official. Wasting no time, Austin then proposed on the island of Santorini in Greece on September 27, 2024.

Pictured below is the night Ally and Austin met. Unfortunately there is no photographic evidence of them actually being together that night… but this proves that they were at the same party.
