If you want a good chance to see bison or get some hiking in, Elk Island National Park is close by! There are some driving loops that you can also see bison from if seeing them from the hiking trail isn't your fancy.
For those who don't want to pay the national park fee, Cooking Lake-Blackfoot rec area is right by Elk Island and has free day use! It has less amenities and no potable water though, so be prepared to bring your own if hiking!
If you are up for something more adventurous, there is an aerial ropes/trekking course. They recommend booking online in advance and close toed shoes/active wear is required (think rock climbing attire). There's also target golf courses at the facility too.
Pretty obvious place for shopping but plenty of things to see and do if you haven't been! Check out the mini golf, water park, go-karts, amusement park and more!
If you want a cute and reasonably priced boutique for woman's clothes, this is it! They have a website for online ordering but physical store is in Sherwood Park.
Did you forget your dress clothes? Realize your tie doesn't actually match her dress or you were supposed to have brown dress shoes and you have black? Formal wear close by the venue for last minute shopping, open 10am to 6pm on Saturdays!
This is where Avery and Steve golf the most! They have 3 9-hole courses... if available, try to get Champions as it is the most beautiful of the 3! Old Hickory is great for beginners.
