Our Wedding

Avery and Declan met in&nbsp;2015 at The Summit Country Day School when Avery moved to Cincinnati from Danvers, Massachusetts. They soon became best friends and began dating a year later in 8th grade. After spending some time apart at the beginning of high school, they rekindled their relationship at&nbsp;sixteen years old and have been inseparable since. Avery attended Goucher College in Towson, Maryland while Declan went to George Washington University in Washington, D.C., a short&nbsp;train ride away. In the summer of 2024, Declan proposed to Avery by surprising her at her house when she returned from&nbsp;work at The Summit – the same place they met. Surrounded by&nbsp;pictures they had taken together throughout the eight years of their relationship, Avery said yes. Avery and Declan are thrilled to&nbsp;spend the rest of their lives together and are excited to celebrate with you!

Cincinnati's airport is in Northern Kentucky and is very easy to navigate. Rental car facilities are onsite. After we booked our wedding date, the Cincinnati Music Festival changed their date to accommodate our music-loving guests! The event will bring 60,000 to the city, so hotel rooms will be scarce. We advise you to book your lodging EARLY and are happy the&nbsp;following hotels have offered us room blocks:

This gorgeous art deco hotel dates back to 1931 and is on the National Historic Landmark. Staying here puts you within walking distance to Paycor Stadium, where the Cincinnati Music Festival will be the same weekend, and just under a mile from The Lytle, where the rehearsal dinner and welcome party will be. It is roughly 20 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from Pinecroft. Shuttle service to and from the wedding is available from this location.

Newport on the Levee offers shops, food, entertainment, and a beautiful view of Cincinnati from across the river in Kentucky. Feel free to stop by the Newport Aquarium or catch a movie at the AMC. There are also plenty of outdoor events to enjoy in July, so keep an eye out for their announcements!

We encourage our history buffs to visit the museum at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. This museum educates its guests on the significance of the Underground Railroad and the path to freedom for millions of Americans.

Emerging star Elly de la Cruz and Declan's hometown Reds take on the Tampa Bay Rays the weekend of our wedding. Again, please make sure to avoid tickets on July 25 as you have a wedding to attend!

The Cincinnati Zoo is famous for Fiona the hippo, who survived her premature birth thanks to her zookeepers. Come see Fiona, her brother Fritz, and the other animals at our Zoo!
