IS THERE A CEREMONY?

Omar and Ayah celebrated their marriage ceremony in Riverview, FL with their closest family and friends on April 27th, 2024. The couple is only hosting a reception to further celebrate their union.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

1) Men are expected to wear formal attire, a tie is optional 2) Women are expected to wear a Caftan or Takchita (Moroccan dresses) which are available to rent from local shops in Morocco. These dresses come in various colors, textures, and styles. (Please refer to the next tab for dress rental recommendation).

WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED METHOD OF TRANSPORTATION?

If you want the freedom to come and go as you please, we recommend you look into renting a car from a rental service. Otherwise, you can easily get from one location to the next within the city using the local taxis which is a popular and affordable form of transportation in Morocco (they are limited to 3 passengers per trip). Taxi prices are approximately 30 DH ($3) for short distances however these prices may vary and you should pay close attention to the taxi meter for accurate pricing, as you will be charged based on distance. Ride sharing apps are also a great method of transportation. If you want to travel from city to city, we recommend Al Boraq, a high-speed train, which travels from Tangier, Rabat to Casablanca.

RIDE SHARING APPS

Ride sharing apps we recommend are Uber and InDrive.

PLANE TICKET INFO

If you are flying out from Florida, we recommend you use the Google flights engine to search for the most convenient and cheapest flights. Direct flights are provided if you fly from Miami to Casablanca (they’re usually the cheapest). If you do fly to Casablanca and need a method of transportation to Tétouan, we recommend the Al Boraq train (a first-class ticket is recommended and should be around $35) to get to Tangier and finishing your trip to Tétouan with a Taxi or ride sharing app. Alternatively, we suggest flying directly into Tangier and then driving to Tétouan, which is about an hour away. This is a more direct route and might be more convenient.

MONETARY CURRENCY

The currency is in Moroccan Dirham. We do not recommend you exchange more than $100 per person at the airport as it is usually more expensive. It’s best to exchange your currency at a local ATM, which you can find using google maps. Make sure you give your bank a travel notice so you don't run into any issues at the ATM.
