Chicago Love Story

The story of how Alex and I met is one of a romance novel, I’m not going to lie. We met in Chicago in July of 2022. If you ask my friends, or if you ask Alex’s friends, everyone thought we were absolutely nuts for how quickly we knew we were meant to be together. A year later, we got the approval of all our friends and family, and made it official. In Chicago in July of 2023, Alex proposed to me in the most beautiful way possible. We can’t wait to marry each other, and it means the world that we get to do that with our loved ones by our side.

Our Story

Photos

The glue to this love story, Aaron is the reason we met and the skilled photographer behind our engagement photos. If it wasn’t for him not only would I have missed meeting my future wife, but I also might not have made it in Chicago as long as I did. If you see him at the wedding ask him “can you please do me a favor” and he’ll know what to say.

Aaron Nguyen

The only person I’ve been friends with for over 20 years. She’s seen me at every stage of life, and has spent the last 8 years being my roommate. We’ve been through Social Studies presentations, braces, and Anatomy all nighters together. If you see her at the wedding ask her how we almost got Vine famous.

Cassie Nolan

The only person in the world I’ve ever seen put ketchup on a steak and also lucky enough to call my best friend. He was the driving force behind our giant pocket shirt concept and is a great person to brainstorm business ideas with. If you see him at the wedding, ask him about how we met.

Jake Kehlenbeck

Quick shoutout to Brooksource for giving me one of my best friends. Kenz is clearly the life of every party, but beyond that, she’s helped me through many stages of life the past few years. She gives 100% to her friends and I’m lucky to be apart of that family. If you see her at the wedding, ask her how my performance in Denver was.

Mackenzie Nadeau

David or “Dave” as I like to call him is by far my most athletic cousin. When he’s not preparing for his first marathon, he’s running a bearing empire out of the city of Miami where we were briefly coworkers. If you see him at the wedding, ask him about his preferred running attire.

David Alfaro

Mer. Bear. Meredith is the wittiest person you’ll ever meet. Beyond that, she’s a total nerd too. Which is why we’re best friends, clearly. I can always count on Mer for a laugh when I need it, and a rant session 5 minutes later. If you see her at the wedding ask her how I single handedly got her rich off Service Desk Technicians.

Meredith Hawkins

He’s the CEO of Team Carlos and everyone’s favorite cousin. Since we were kids I was always his first assistant and extra set of hands for all of our backyard science experiments. If you see him at the wedding, ask him about the time we met at the water park.

Carlos Alfaro

Kaitlyn and I went to high school together, accidentally thought we hated each other, and then became best friends in college. Kaitlyn always gets me. We live in different cities, so it’s a lot of “I miss you” texts. If you see her at the wedding, ask her how she cornered my future husband into proposing to me.

Kaitlyn Rotten

Tennessees #1 fan and Twitter legend. In the short amount of time I’ve been around Bryce, I’ve been in awe how he manages to successfully raise 2 beautiful children and maintain season tickets. If you see him at the wedding, ask him about 98’.

Bryce Edwards

I met Alyssa day 1 of school at UT. Very quickly we became tied at the hip and spent every weekday at the library, and every gameday in Neyland together. I can always count on her to bounce life ideas off of and get a gauge on if I’m being unreasonable or not…If you see her at the wedding ask her how we manifested our future husbands together.

Alyssa Shahan

It probably took me way too long to realize my “little” cousin was actually almost twice my size as we got older. Frankie and I spent our summers in Puerto Rico learning to love the game of golf from our grandfather at Berwind Country Club. If you see him at the wedding standing a foot taller than everyone else, ask him about Machete.

Francisco Arias

Karina entered my life about a year ago. The famous older sister…Alex’s best friend. I knew this was the person I needed to impress. Thankfully, she’s one of the coolest people I’ve gotten to know, so it wasn’t hard to immediately love her. If you see her at the wedding, just talk in a southern accent and she’ll have no clue what you’re saying.

Karina De Jesus

Brother in law and golden child of my own family, Ivan is the best all around guy you’ll ever meet. If you see him at the wedding, find a guitar and ask him to sing you a song, you won’t be disappointed.
