Our Wedding

Barbara and Joe met at the gym. After months of making&nbsp;occasional small talk, Barbara finally realized that the "we" that Joe so often referred to ("we just moved in to an apartment in Waltham," "we saw the best movie last night"),&nbsp;was in fact his&nbsp;brother and sister-in-law, and not a girlfriend! Once Barbara found out that Joe was a&nbsp;single third-wheel to Tom and Sarah, Barbara and Joe started talking more and more. Before long, there were the post-workout Coronas&nbsp;on the steps outside Barbara's apartment,&nbsp;dinner dates over sushi, and, of course, rides on the motorcycle. The rest is history!

How We Met

On Barbara's 30th birthday, just before friends started arriving at The Landing at Long Wharf for the party, Joe asked&nbsp;his sister-in-law Sarah to walk down Long Wharf with him and Barbara for a birthday photo. After a few pictures were taken, Joe said he wanted one more, and that was when he turned and got down on one knee and proposed! Barbara was thrilled and of course said yes!

The Inn at Mount Hope Farm

This property used to be a hotel and is now&nbsp;a Roger Williams University residence hall. The university&nbsp;rents out&nbsp;the rooms during the summer months. Each room has two double beds and a private bathroom. Rooms run around $90/night and there is no two-night minimum (unlike many of the other accommodations). It is only a five minute drive from Blithewold.

Colt State Park’s 464 acres of lawns, stone walls, and curving drives along one of the state’s most spectacular shorelines stands in contrast to one of Rhode Island’s charming, compact, historic seaports, the Town of Bristol. Colt State Park is often referred to as the 'Gem' of the State Parks System. The entire western border of the park is an open panorama onto Narragansett Bay. Open year round, the park offers four miles of bicycle trails passing along the Bay and through 464 acres of groomed fruit trees, carefully nurtured flowering bushes, and manicured lawns. Rich in history, it proudly displays ten large playfields, a historical museum, six picnic groves containing 400+ picnic tables, and its popular open air Chapel-By-The-Sea.

Colt State Park

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this grand country estate encompasses 127 acres of preserved open space, offering miles of easy and beautiful walking trails. The historic property boasts stunning views of Mount Hope Bay, a rustic Civil War-era Barn, and a 12-room Inn that dates back to 1745. A year-round farmer’s market is held every Saturday featuring the finest local food and artisan vendors. In addition to the architecturally-designed, handicapped-accessible vegetable and cutting gardens, the Farm is home to goats, chickens, sheep, bees and one pair of only 500 twin miniature donkeys in the country. Mount Hope Farm is the preferred setting for hundreds of weddings, special events and milestone occasions throughout the year.
