We recommend you download the communication app "Whatsapp" as it is very handy to have while on Harbour Island, as the majority of the people on the island communicate this way. Whatsapp strictly works off of data or WiFi.

Water Taxi
Once you arrive and exit North Eleuthera airport, you will catch a $5 per person / 5 minute taxi ride down to the dock (*Note- all taxis are CASH ONLY, always good to carry some cash with you when visiting the islands as a lot of the smaller/local places are cash only - taxis/water taxis run all day long). Once you arrive onto the dock you will catch another $5 per person / 5 minute water taxi ride across to Harbour Island ( the water taxis run all day long back and forth). Just a note**carry your own bag if you can or else the guy who takes it is going to expect a tip... they jump on you so just tell them you have it covered!
Taxi on Harbour Island
There will be taxis available at arrival dock on Harbour Island, but if you want to contact driver ahead of time on the day of your arrival, we have a great taxi driver to use on the island -
- Mr. Troy Higgs. He can pick you up from the dock and bring you to the house or hotel. Troy drives a taxi that says "Junkanoo Cab". Troy is also $5 per person (cash), but he is really nice and reliable.
Below is Troy's number so you can "Whatsapp" him directly, it's also good to have his number so you can arrange for him to pick you up upon your departure.

Golf Cart Rentals
There are handful of places to rent golf carts for your time on the island - this is the main mode of transportation except for taxi for arrival/departure. We would definitely recommend renting for your trip.
Call or book online with the company ahead of time to reserve. Cost averages $50-$60/day, and every company will deliver & pick up where you are staying.

House Rentals
If you want to stay with a group while on Harbour Island, we recommend renting a house through VRBO. Don't wait to book if this is your preference!
There are currently many options available and the house owners are friendly & helpful. The island is only 3.5 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, so you don't have to worry about being too far away from everything!
Many of the bookings require a 50% deposit, but have options for refund/cancellations by a specific date if necessary.
