Becca and Joe met while they were both working in Crash Safety at Ford Motor Company. Like a test vehicle colliding with a rigid barrier at 35mph, so their hearts collided.

Becca grew up in Fairfax County, Virginia. She got her bachelor's degree at in mechanical engineering at the University of Virginia and a master's degree in mechanical engineering at Penn State. After grad school, Becca moved to Southeast Michigan to work for Ford Motor Company as a crash safety engineer.

Joe grew up locally in Swartz Creek, Michigan. He got his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan - Flint. After graduating (and a brief stint as a duck hunting guide in Arkansas), Joe started work at Ford as a crash safety engineer.

Becca and Joe started dating in the summer of 2019. Since then, they have enjoyed many adventures together, such as driving halfway across the country to Colorado Springs in a blizzard to pick up their bird dog, a yellow labrador retriever named Hazel. They passed the time together during the pandemic quarantine training Hazel.
