Where and when is the wedding?
Both the ceremony and reception will take place at Carper Vineyard & Winery in Norwalk, IA on October 19th, 2024. Please visit the Home tab above for the address and timeline details for the wedding day. We ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes before the ceremony start time to make sure everyone is seated and ready to enjoy the proceedings together. We are excited to have you join us!
What date should I RSVP by?
Please RSVP by September 1st, 2024
Can I RSVP online or do I have to mail in an RSVP card?
We encourage use of the RSVP online feature. However, if we have not received your online RSVP, we will include a RSVP card with a formal invitation via mail.
Am I allowed to bring my children?
Children are welcome! On your online RSVP form, there is a follow-up question to let us know if your children will be in attendance. We understand some children may not prefer the food provided at the reception, so this is just to let us know if they are likely to want a meal so that we can get an accurate dinner guest count for our caterers!
What type of food will be served at your wedding?
There will be a cocktail hour with a variety of hors' d'oeuvres to enjoy. The reception dinner will be served buffet-style and includes an entrée and various sides. There will be a chicken or beef entrée, as well as a pasta entrée option for any vegetarian guests.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes - Please enjoy responsibly! There will also be self-serve water and coffee available.
What is the dress code for your wedding?
Semi-formal attire is suggested, but please wear what makes you most comfortable!
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be outdoors and the reception is indoors. There are outdoor lounge spaces to enjoy throughout the evening if you wish.
Hotels
We have secured room blocks at Homewood Suites and the Drury Inn located in West Des Moines. These are within a 15-20 minute drive from the venue. Please visit the Travel tab above to view the hotel booking details.
The Des Moines area also has many other lodging options through travel booking services such as airbnb.com and vrbo.com
Parking & Transportation
Free parking is available at our wedding venue. We encourage carpooling if feasible. There is no shuttle service available. Please plan accordingly and travel safe!
Registry/Gifts
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a monetary contribution to our honeymoon fund, please click the Registry tab above. A wedding card box will be at our reception.
Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?
We ask that no phones or cameras be used during the ceremony! Please allow our wonderful photographer to capture those special moments for us without the distraction of your devices. Photos are encouraged after the ceremony during the reception - please make sure to visit our photo booth and snap a selfie with the bride and groom during the reception!
Will you be live streaming your wedding?
We have created a private Facebook group to live stream the ceremony for those who are not able to join us in person. Please contact us to be added to this group if you would like!
Am I allowed to bring a plus one?
If you would like to bring a plus one and there is not the option to provide their name on the RSVP form, please reach out to the bride or groom. We kindly ask that you do not bring any un-approved guests.
Handicap accessibility
The venue is handicap accessible. Both the ceremony and reception spaces are paved for wheelchair accessibility. Please let us know if there are any specific handicap features you would like more detail on so we can help get that information for you!
Health and Safety measures
Face masks are optional. Please respect the choices made by all guests if they wish to wear a mask or not. For everyone's safety, we kindly ask that you remain at home if you are not feeling well.
