Our Wedding

Beginning in high school and then into college at Texas A&M University, Matt and Becky have been running in the same social circles. However, it wasn’t until many years after college that the online dating website PlentyofFish.com would finally bring them together. It only took Matt’s first sentence to peak Becky’s interest “..Howdy! My name is Matt and I’m an Aggie Catholic.” It immediately checked off all of Becky’s criteria boxes and she decide that, at minimum, he was worth an initial date.

Their very first “meet-up” date for drinks was at Flying Saucer in Addison, TX. Which just happened to be the coldest night of the year. Following their first “meet-up” date, Matt and Becky would continue to go on several more formal dates as their conversations and interests in each other grew. Fun fact, Matt and Becky’s first “real date” was at Antonio’s Ristorante; which is only a few steps from where the reception venue is located!

Over the last year and a half, Matt and Becky have experienced many adventures together. From random last minute weekend trips to Denver, CO; to two trips to California; and most recently a trip to Michigan for a wedding of a co-worker she had never met in person. Matt and Becky both share a love of travel and exploring new places together. They have also taken to each other’s hobbies. Becky has converted Matt from a beer only drinker to a wine snob (we prefer the term wino) in less than a year. They have taken three wine specific trips (one to Fredericksburg, TX; one to Livermore, CA; and Napa, CA). Matt has also converted Becky to a sports fan (outside of just Aggie football). They regularly attend Stars hockey games in the fall; F.C. Dallas soccer games in the spring and summer; and when it’s not too hot, Ranger Baseball games.

As Matt and Becky’s relationship has grown, many important relationship mile-stones have occurred over a glass of wine or at wineries. Matt’s friends and family first found out about Becky at Homestead Winery in Grapevine, TX. Matt and Becky’s first solo day-long date was on Main Street in Grapevine, TX; where they visited several wineries including Messina Hof when they made their relationship official. During Matt and Becky’s first trip together to the Miller family lake house in Huntsville, TX; they picked up a random bottle of Taft Street Sauvignon Blanc and drank it on the deck overlooking the lake. Taft Street was the first white wine that Matt really liked and has since that time been one of his favorite wines. The first place Matt told Becky that he loved her was while drinking a glass of wine at Bingham Winery in Grapevine, TX; and Matt proposed to Becky during her dream trip to Napa Valley at Del Dotto Vineyards in April.

On April 27, 2019, Matt and Becky hope that you will join them in celebrating their Marriage and become part of the beginning, of the new chapter, of their story.

I've got a little story for you..

Lauren and I have known each other for almost 20 years! We were part of the same homeschool group growing up, and both went to A&M together. Becky was Maid of Honor in Lauren's wedding in 2015 and finally it's her turn to return the favor!

Fun fact Matt has also known Lauren for about 15 years too! They were part of a Church youth group together in high school.

I've known Brian for 30 years! In that time he has been my brother, roommate (in college and afterwards) and my best friend. I was his Best Man in 2016 and it's time for him to return the favor!

Matt has known Josh since 2015 when he moved into the town home next door in Fort Worth and instantly formed a friendship. Their friendship has included many visits to sporting events, breweries, and a few trips (including one crazy epic trip to California).

Josh Mogilefsky

Becky's Oldest Sister! Even though they didn't always get along Katy and Becky have always been there for each other when it really mattered.

Katy Wyble

Becky's sister! Being 18 months apart grew up doing everything together, even lived together in college!

Tina Chaplin

Matt has only know Saul for less than two years. However, even though Saul is married to Becky's Maid of Honor, they instantly formed a friendship over shared interests in all things craft beer and sports (especially soccer!).

Kendra and Becky have been friends since they were born! With their mothers being friends since high school it was destiny. Kendra is the "other sister" in the Chaplin family, and Becky is so excited to have Kendra stand up with her on her wedding day.

J.P. and Matt have known each other since they were roommates for three years in college. They also helped launch one epic Catholic radio station that included lots of Josh Groban and the Beatles.

Ron and Matt have only know each other for a little over a year. However, they share a bond that only two brave men have known so far; marrying into the Chaplin family.

Becky met Jordan in college, and it has been a beautiful friendship! Jordan and Becky are now travel buddies, and they make sure they go on at least one big trip a year. So far they have hit up Nashville and Charleston together, and have plans for NOLA and Napa soon!

Tyler and Matt have been life-long friends, and their families have literally lived across the street from each other their entire lives. Over the years their lives have taken them in different directions, but they have continued to remain good friends. Matt is excited to have Tyler stand up with him on his wedding day.

Tabitha was Becky's freshman roommate at A&M, and thankfully it's a friendship that has stood the test of time and distance!

Travel

(Recommended for Brunch)

This restaurant is one of Becky and Matt's favorite brunch spots in Addison. The Chicken & Waffles comes highly recommended by Becky; and Matt recommends the Chicken in a Biscuit. Please note: on the weekends (especially with nice weather) this place can get really busy. It is recommended you come early for a good spot.

Both Becky and Matt recommend sitting at the Chef's table for the best experience. The Chef's table is open seating next to the bar so you don't have to wait for a table if it is busy.

If you're staying at the Courtyard by Marriott it a short (2 minute) walk across the parking lot.

Ida Claire

If you are looking to grab a couple of pints after a long travel (or work) day on the Friday night before the wedding; stop by the Flying Saucer and grab a drink to relax! The Flying Saucer has over 200+ beers to choose from.

This particular establishment was where Becky and Matt met in person for the first time.

Flying Saucer Draught Emporium

This restaurant holds a special place in Becky and Matt's relationship. This is where they had their first real date (after Matt made it past the meet up a couple weeks before at Flying Saucer). If your looking for great authentic Italian food while in town; you can't go wrong with Antonio's. It is located right on Addison Circle and if the weather cooperates (which in late April in Texas; who really knows) their outside patio is highly recommended.

Antonio Ristorante

Astoria Caffe & Wine Bar is another location that Becky and Matt visited on one of their early dates. If you've just finished a delicious dinner at Antonio's and looking for a great place for Dessert and another bottle of wine (we won't judge), you definitely should walk down the street to Astoria. They are open late and have a vast selection of wine and desserts to choose from. Please note: the inside seating is limited but if the weather is nice, they have several tables outside.

Astoria Caffe & Wine Bar

If you're looking for something to do (and eat) the Saturday morning before the wedding; Matt highly recommends The Londoner Pub. It was voted the #1 Pub in 2016 to watch EPL in the United States. They will have most every EPL game available to watch on t.v. that morning. Warning: depending on which teams are playing it will get very loud and busy with the various supporter groups. Good thing Chelsea doesn't play until Sunday because The Londoner is the home of their official supporters group. Even if you're not an English football fan; the traditional English food served here is fantastic. Matt recommends either The Full Monty or the traditional Corned Beef Hash (this is definitely not the canned stuff). For those of you interested here is the schedule of teams playing on the Saturday morning of April 27th.

6:30a Tottenham Hotspurs vs. West Ham 9:00a Crrystal Palace vs. Everton 9:00a Fulham vs. Cardiff 9:00a Southampton vs. Bournemouth 9:00a Watford vs. Wolves 11:30a Brighton vs. Newcastle
