Becky and Theo met the good old fashioned way, online. Becky had decided to move to LA and while looking for apartments in Los Angeles agreed to meet Theo for a date. He picked her up after being lost for 15 minutes and sparks flew. It's been laughter, fun and love ever since. In August of 2017 Theo and Becky took a quick trip with her parents and family friend Gretchen to Hawaii and on top of Mount Haleakala at sunset he got down on one knee and proposed. It was beautiful and perfect in every way! Now they can't wait to share their special day with all their friends and family in the most beautiful place on earth, Maui!

The Day Of...

Location, Location, Location!

Our guests will gather before the ceremony starts at 5:30 on the Ocean Lawn of the Westin Maui Resort and Spa. Following the ceremony there will be live music and cocktails in the Aloha Pavilion and then we will begin the reception in the Aloha Pavilion!

Attire

We've already gotten a lot of questions about attire for the wedding, especially since it will be summer in Hawaii, meaning it will be hot and humid. The best way we will describe it is Maui Semi-Formal. If you are dying to wear your brand new Hawaiian shirt from downtown Lahaina, then by all means please wear it! But, please don't wear board shorts, wear some slacks to give the Hawaiian shirt the respect it deserves! You may wear button downs, short or long sleeved, but again please wear pants.&nbsp;For the ladies, a nice sundress, or slacks and a nice top, or even a skirt and a nice top. Keep in mind that even though it is hot during the day time we will be partying into the evening and for the ladies and gentlemen who get cold easily you should bring a light jacket, sweater or shawl.&nbsp;

We have the event listed in the "Other Events" area on the main page and have an open invitation to anyone who would like to join! It is a bit pricey and will be a ton of fun. There's also a hike along option if you'd like to take pictures of Becky having a lot of panic and Theo obsessing over his go pro footage in real time.

Pineapple Rum Tasting

When in Maui... Am I right? Many of us will be taking a tour of the pineapple rum plantation and are happy to have any tag alongs with us. We'll be posting the exact time and date when the time gets closer.

Feast At Lele

We do have a plan to attend the feast at lele and are happy to have anyone come along with us and experience this magic. We just aren't sure of a date quite yet, so again when we have an idea of what the schedule will be we will post it under "Other Events"!

Travel

One of the biggest attractions of the wild in Maui is the beautiful ocean that surrounds it, and with the heat you’ll be happy you can dive right in. Snorkeling on the reef is a blast and an experience you won’t forget. We’ve learned that you should purchase snorkeling gear prior to your trip since it’s expensive on the island. Try amazon or target for the best deals. You can probably book a guided snorkeling adventure or even just go on your own out on the shores of Kanapaali!&nbsp;With that being said there is specific sunscreen you must use if going in the ocean since it must be safe for the reef! Google one that best fits your skin type and purchase before hand!

This one is special to us, because it’s where the big proposal happened at sunset. If you wish to visit Haleakala at sunrise and get the full experience with the welcome of the sun traditions and see the most beautiful sunrise, you should absolutely do it. Keep in mind it does require a reservation and a donation to the national parks as a holder since it gets crowded. IT IS COLD, EVEN IN THE SUMMER IT IS COLD UP THERE! So cold, I can’t stress this enough. It’s cold. It’s also quite a drive up the volcano, but totally worth it. If you decide to go at sunset it doesn’t require a reservation and I would even suggest make an afternoon of it. There’s a few places on the way up that I’ll mention below.&nbsp;

Haleakalā National Park

This is a highlight, folks. I think the name is clever but even nicer in person. The farm is a farm, and you can see all of it when you go. They have baby goats, tours of how they make things and milk the goats and a tasting station. In the tasting station you can buy all kinds of goat based treats like chocolate truffles, goat cheeses with crackers and meat plates. It’s amazing. I suggest the sampler to get a wide range of tastes. Before you go, be sure to check the times of their business so you don’t miss out on anything or a tour if that’s something you’re interested in. This is a spot on the way up to Haleakala!

Surfing Goat Dairy

The lavender farm isn’t necessarily a long adventure, more short and sweet. If you love lavender (as I do) it’s a great stop. Lavender galore! They have delicious lavender scones, tea, soaps, everything and you can even pick some if I’m not mistaken. A cute stop on the way up to Haleakala!

Ali'i Kula Lavender

Amazing, just amazing. I know when you go to Hawaii you think you really want to go to a Luau and I can just say&hellip; This is probably the coolest part of Maui. This show is not a typical luau and you get to experience food, dancing and culture from all of the different Polynesian islands. Unlimited alcohol and food doesn’t hurt the experience either. This can get pricey but nothing can compare to this. Make reservations ahead!

Feast at Lele

This a big adventure. If you’re brave enough to drive it, kudos, but make sure your rental car company allows it prior. If you’d like to visit Hana but not drive take a tour and book it ahead of time. Way safer in some ways! This is a long highway that goes through the cliffs into the area of Hana and Hana beach. There’s a lot to explore and see and some great food stands on the way.

Children

Are kids welcome at the ceremony or Reception?

Becky and Theo both love children especially those of our close friends and family! Of course they are welcome in Hawaii, and theres a lot for them to do all over the island! In the case of our wedding we don't believe this is the place for kids, and space is limited. We are having an adult only ceremony and reception!

Will there be accommodation for children?

We will be working with the resort to find out if their kids club will be open that evening for children to join and stay while their parents are able to get some adult time in at the wedding! The other options are also care.com and nanny agencies on Maui that provide babysitters for the night.

Traveling

Do you have recommendations or a block?

We personally stay at our timeshare, and that would be the only thing we have personally experienced. If you are looking for a block we may be getting one if we can guarantee there will be 10 rooms taken with a three night minimum and the block price starts at $319 per night and caps out at $359 per night for ocean views.

Are there travel packages?

Of course there are! You can check out any website that offers packages, but if you're interested in having a more personal experience with someone who is one of our favorite people, the mother of the bride Tricia is a travel agent and would be happy to help you find a package including airfare, transportation, and lodging. Food and Alcohol

The ultimate question, is there an open bar?

There is not for this wedding! It will be a cash bar.

Will there be accommodations for allergies?

Yes, we have the menu listed on our site for options. If there is someone with an allergy please let us know so we can find the best way to accommodate you.

Is there a Vegan/Vegetarian option?

Yes, absolutely. It's listed on our website that we have the option though we do not have the actual meal listed or planned yet we do have an option for vegan and vegetarian friends!

Are cellphones allowed?

During the reception, absolutely! Our ceremony, we will have a professional there to take pictures of us and our guests. We want our guests to focus on the ceremony and being present in that very special time. We ask that you please turn off cell phones and keep them in pockets or purses throughout the ceremony!

Chicken Breast with Ali'i mushroom whipped potatoes, ginger honey braised carrots kaffir lime, lemongrass essence.
