Do I need a passport to travel to Roatan?
Yes! Ensure your passports are valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
What if I can't attend the wedding?
That is ok! We understand travel can be difficult. We will have a live stream for our invited guests that cannot attend in person.
Where should we stay on the island?
We are blocking a minimal amount of rooms at the Mayan Princess resort. Please note the resort offers 1,2,and 3 bedroom condos, as well as, 1 room studios. If interested in staying at the Mayan Princess, the promo code is Ryan-Castro Wedding 2025.
If not staying at the Mayan Princess, please stay at any other beautiful resort or Airbnb in the West Bay area. Check the travel page for more information. Most resorts and Airbnbs will be walking distance from the Mayan Princess.
How do we travel around the island?
Water or land taxis, walking, or renting a car. The island is not very big. Please note the taxis will run all night on the island. Transportaion around the island is easy.
How do I get to the wedding if I am not staying at the resort?
Land taxi! We recommend making prior arrangements with the taxi driver to pick you up after the wedding.
How do we get to the island?
Getting to Roatán is part of the adventure!
The most common way to reach Roatán is by flying into Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB). Several airlines operate regular flights to Roatán from major cities in the United States, Canada, and other international locations.
Connecting Flights: If there are no direct flights from your location, you might have connecting flights through major hubs like Miami or Houston.
Local Airlines: Domestic airlines within Honduras also offer flights to Roatán from the mainland.
Do we need to know how to speak Spanish?
While English is widely spoken in Roatán, especially in tourist areas, a few basic Spanish phrases is great. Most people appreciate the effort, even if it's just a simple "Hola" (hello) or "Gracias" (thank you).
When should we book our accommadtions?
We would plan to book about 5-6 months ahead. Please remember you will need a passport!
What is the wedding dress code?
Semi-formal beach attire (think pants not shorts).
Example: linen shirts and pants. Khaki pants and button up shirts. Floral dresses (short and long). Fun jumpsuits. We are asking our guests to please wear colorful attire. Hot pinks, reds, blues, purples, yellows, greens, florals, sparkles. The wedding party will be wearing red and pink-ish dresses. Please not the ceremony and reception will be outside.
Can I bring a plus one?
Invitations will include details about whether a plus one is extended.
Please keep an eye out for the formal invitation, where we'll specify whether your invitation includes a plus one. We appreciate your understanding as we plan for a magical day and ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all our guests.
Should guests bring a present to the wedding?
No need to bring a present, your love and good wishes are more than sufficient. We're thrilled to have you celebrate with us!

How long should we stay on the island?
Totally up to you! Andrew and I will be staying for the week, and we would love to hang out with everyone as long as we can. Please book your trip whatever works best for you.
