Benjamin and Emma first met when their dogs ran into each other at their college apartment complex in Tuscaloosa, AL. To keep a long story short, Ben invited Emma to a bonfire his roommates were having in their backyard. Emma agreed and made such an impression that Benjamin came into her work the next day and asked her out on a date that night. Being a college town, Tuscaloosa in the summer is empty, so Emma and Ben spent nearly everyday together until Emma left for Europe on a summer study abroad trip.

While Emma was abroad, Ben schemed a plan to backpack across Europe with Emma after his graduation in the winter. Though this meant a load of planning and working to fund the trip, Emma happily agreed (after a few weeks of convincing). This was the start to a long semester of countless hours studying, working, and sneaking in fun when they could. The commitment to school and work was not without its hardships, but Emma and Benjamin both grew as individuals and as a couple through this.

After a semester that seemed to simultaneously last years and fly by in the blink of an eye, Benjamin graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and they set off for a three-week trip across Europe.

After their trip, Benjamin relocated to Nashville, TN for work and Emma remained at UA for her last semester. They continued to date medium-distance and visited each other on weekends. Four months later, Emma graduated with a degree in English with hopes of going to medical school. Coincidentally, while at work, Emma had met the CMO of a cancer research institute based in Nashville, TN and set up an interview at the institute. Emma got the job and moved to Nashville to join Benjamin.

After a few months together in Nashville, Benjamin popped the question and Emma said yes. They are so excited to enter this next chapter of their life and are so thankful for the people who are there to celebrate with them.
