Welcome Reception

VAL'S TAVERN

Friends and family who will be in town on Friday, April 4, are invited to join us for some drinks, snacks, and warm embraces.

Location: Val's Tavern Upstairs Bar

Address: 123 E River Rd, Rumson, NJ 07760

Time: 8 pm - 12 am

Libations: Drinks are on Matt & Bern from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm. After that, a full, private cash bar will be at our disposal until they close around Midnight.

Provisions: Snacks, hors d'oeuvres, munchies. Whatever you call it, there will be light fare being passed around and available to munch on from 9 pm to 10 pm.

Parking: If possible, we recommend that you carpool or Uber, but for those who are driving, street parking on East River Road (northbound side) or Carlton Street is your best bet. Additionally, there are a few municipal & recreation lots in that area that should have parking. Just be sure to check signs!

AFTER PARTY

Murphy's Tavern

For any revelers looking to keep the party going, we recommend that you check out the Jersey Shore's oldest speakeasy, a prohibition-era basement bar.

Location: Murphy's Tavern

Address: 17 Ward Ln, Rumson, NJ 07760

Details: Friends are encouraged to check out this neighborhood bar. No kidding! This bar is literally in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Like, it's so residential that it's in the basement of someone's house, but the bartenders are friendly, and the drinks are cold...plus it's probably legal. (We're kidding, it's 99% legal!) So, head over after you are done at Val's and take in some local flavor.

NOTE: The entrance to the bar is down the driveway/alley in the basement. Please be careful of the steep decline and be mindful of the neighbors (who are probably sleeping). If you find yourself walking UP any stairs, you are probably accidentally entering someone's house.
