1) Cancun International Airport (CUN) is the closest airport to the resort. It is approximately a 45 minute ride from the airport to the resort. Roundtrip airport transfers can be added to your reservation from Cancun International Airport (CUN) to the resort when you book your reservation with the Reservation Form .
2) Even if you are planning on checking a bag, it is always a good idea to bring a carry-on with all of the most important items that you would need to get you through a few days. Hopefully, nobody has to deal with lost luggage, but it's always better to be prepared.
3) Scan your passport/travel documents, and email them to yourself. Although the emailed copies won't act as a replacement, it could be helpful if you lose your passport or other travel documents while on the trip.
4) Almost all the main cell phone carriers, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile, offer affordable and even free-roaming in Mexico. However, they also all have older plans that offer extremely expensive roaming rates in Mexico. Double-check with your cell phone provider prior to the trip to verify if you have free-roaming. If not, complimentary wifi will be available at the resort both in your room and throughout the resort. We recommend using wifi-based apps, like WhatsApp and GroupMe, to communicate to others during your stay.
5) Avoid drinking tap water while in Mexico. Bottled water is available throughout the resort.
6) If you plan on going off the resort, convert some of your money to Pesos. Although a lot of places will accept US dollars, you will usually get a pretty awful return on your US Dollars compared to if you paid in Pesos.
7) It is always a good idea to notify your bank when and where you are traveling prior to your trip to avoid your bank putting holds on your cards when making purchases in locations that are outside of where you normally swipe. This is normally a quick task you can do on your online account.
