Timing and opportunity is everything and when you say yes to things and figuratively and literally lace them up, you never know what God may have in store. That's where this story starts.
It was during that phase in Covid when pickleball really hit the scene and yes this is a story of me falling in love with Beth but it first really began with falling in love with pickleball.
I actually was a fill in for this game, it was a Sunday after church and they were short a player and I was asked if I could join and I have thanked God time and time again that I said yes.
Let me tell y'all Bethβs pickleball skills was not the reason I fell for her, but in her defense this was her first time playing and she has come a long long long way. I picked her to be my partner since I had the most experience and she had the
least and I watched as she stumble and laughed and swung and missed her way through a couple hours of pickleball and even after that beautiful display of skills I still left thinking, man I would really like to get to know this girl better.
(They say to Find the Godliest girl in the room and marry her well I found mine on a pickleball court)
Our first date was Labor Day of 2020, there was never really a set plan I just made it up as you go kind of thing and no one told me first dates are more a quick casual thing. Ours lasted 10 hours and went all around the dfw metroplex. I had a lot of fun and Beth was a great sport (who knows what was going on in her head after hour 4) from there I knew I never wanted this fun to end and we have had countless adventures and parties since. Beth has been the ultimate teammate and supporter and I am so excited to be making my favorite pickleball partner my wife.
