Drawing more than a million visitors each year, this downtown gem is the most-visited museum in the Tar Heel State and the largest of its kind in the Southeast. With four floors of exhibits and millions of specimens, it's fair to say the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences lives large. Visitors can marvel at towering dinosaur skeletons, stroll through a butterfly-filled conservatory, peek into real science labs and experience everything from North Carolina’s coastal habitats to the edges of our solar system. General admission is FREE.
Pullen Park is the first public park in North Carolina, the 5th oldest operating amusement park in the U.S., and the 16th oldest in the world.
With over 1,200 rose bushes, this historic garden is nothing short of a fragrant wonderland, where colors and aromas collide in one 6.5 acre park. The Raleigh Rose Garden is free to visit, and is open to the public from dawn to dusk, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Our collection galleries span more than 5,000 years, from antiquity to the present, and provides countless cultural experiences for the people of our state and beyond. The Museum Park showcases the connection between art and nature through site-specific works of art and notable programming. Both are free to visit. Visit your free North Carolina Museum of Art and 164-acre Ann and Jim Goodnight Museum Park.
